I Have To Hide My Dream Journal!

Ha! I have to hide my dream journal, because some of the things i do in my dreams would be rather displeasing or embarasing to any memebr of my family! What i do is it write them down when i wake up, copy them to PC when i have the time, and destroy the dream page. I know its a bit over the top, but its protecting me!

      Same thing for me sometimes.

I have a few entries that are disturbing and wouldn't be how they think of me.

Why not save some paper, and just type it up in the first place?

You could always just tell your parents about lucid dreaming. Or, maybe, put embarassing things in code. "Had fun" could mean "had sex." Something like that.

Yeah, but when i've just woken up the first thing i dont want to do is crawl over to my pc, switch on my slow-ass computer and wait to log-on. I'd rather write it down instantly in the book i keep near my bed, and ill remember more like that.

yeah i do what abra does
because it was only last night and i was 'having fun'
      ah. good times.

      anyway
i like to keep it simple
simple so if someone finds it, it isnt too bad
but enough info for me to remember the dream

I'm not too worried about someone reading mine because I trust my mom, so I keep it on the bed. However, I'm still embarrassed enough to write things in code most of the time.

Not that I think anyone can read my half-asleep handwriting anyway; I can hardly read it myself sometimes.

I would just make up some stupid code like "Then Jane walked over and offered me some orange slices." Like, no one is going to know what the hell that means. You could even throw in a "Why the hell do I always dream that people are offering me orange slices?!" just incase someone reads it front to back Or it could be more hidden, like a little ink smudge.

I occasionally have dreams I wouldn't share... The only really bad one was before I started writing my dreams down.

Maybe draw a smiley face as code. And throw in a few smileys in other places too, like if you're flying.

My mother knows they are dreams and nobody in my family believes in dream intepretation, so I'm safe.

Besides, nobody's interested in my dreams

Oh I don't need to hide it, care nothing whatever my parents/family think about it or if they read it. Unless they are interested, in which case then I care.

Huh? You don't care if they read it, unless they're interested in it? ...I don't understand...

I think he means they are not interested in dreaming or lucid dreams, so he doesn't care what they think. But if they showed interest, then he'd value their thoughts. Just my interpretation.

      Lol, GenericUser..

I don't hide my dream journal, but I am kind of embarrassed when anyone asks me about it, or wants to look through it. It feels extremely personal to me, and seems like I'm allowing them access to things that should remain private. <.<

My thoughts exactly. There are only a handful of people I would let look through mine, and then only reluctantly...

I don't censor anything in my Dream Journal (censorship = horseshit, IMO). If someone wants to read my DJ, I tell them plain and simple - "Alright, but keep in mind that there 'R-rated/X-rated' scenarios written about in this journal that may make you feel awkward and/or embarrassed. Read at your own risk."

hehe... Now the extra "in lucid dreams" chat for msn makes sense... It was supposed to be "Unless they are interested in lucid dreams, in which case then I care."

Hehe, if it's bad I wont even write it down, I come to the PC. Not like I'm gonna forget it any time soon. JK, I always come to the PC anyway. I only write down key words before I get to the PC.

I write my dream journal on my laptop. It is usually nearby and turning it on does not take long. Not many people know that microsoft word allows you password protect files. This way nobody can read it so censorship is not necessary.

Yeah, I don't censor anything in my journal cuz I like to accurately recount what happened for later remembering, no matter the content.

My family doesn't read my journal, so I'm totally safe. They respect the fact that it's my stuff, and they leave my stuff alone. Besides, they aren't interested enought to look through it even if they decided to violate my privacy. >_>
