      LDing on little sleep

We all know that a good night's sleep is the best way to LD because you need enough time to get deep into your REM cycles.

When I had a more carefree life I got at least 8 hrs sleep each night and would LD throughout the week. Now I have a demanding schedule and only get 4-5 hours of sleep during the week but 8 to 9 on the weekends.

As a result I usually LD on the weekends but rarely during the week, although it does happen sometimes.

So what I'm interested in knowing is if anyone out there has found a way to consistently get LDs on little sleep. I'd also really like to know what the LEAST amount of sleep is that someone has been able to pull off an LD under.

This is the non-lucid discussion forum.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

OK, but the poll is a general dream question.

I've heard that the best way to remember a dream is to wake up earlier than your normal sleep pattern would do, so that you emerge straight from REM into a waking state.

I don't know about how long you should sleep before that, though.
