I don't know if anyone has heard this, but I was reading on a forum about the use of nicotine patches to stop smoking. One of the side effects was vivid, intense, realistic dreams, and nightmares
Well, since I'm not prone to nightmares I thought I'd give it a try. I don't smoke cigarettes, but do smoke a few Cigars every week, so I figure, it can't hurt.
I tried a 14mg Nicoderm CQ patch and here is what happened.

Haven't updated in a while, but I tried an interesting experiment last night.
I have read that nicotine patches can increase the intensity of dreams. At first, due to the stimulant effect of nicotine, I couldn't sleep, but after a few hours I had the most intense, vivid, and realistic dreams of my life.
First of all, they were hours ago so they are difficult to remember, but I'll start with the first one.
I woke up to go to school, it was cold and rainy. I left and drove around for a while, but got lost, so I came back home. In front of the house was a box, I knocked on the door and picked up the box. As I did a delivery man came by and told me to put it down, I explained that the owner of the house was sleeping, and I was going to take them in. He said he couldn't let me do that, and asked when the lady I was taking care of would come down, right as he said that my mom opened the door.
The delivery was bagels for some guests she was having look at our house, which in the dream was for sale. I asked her if she ordered some bagels, but she hesitantly said yes, some. I asked if I could have one, and she said no, they were for the guests. When I woke up, the dream was so real I thought i was late for school, then realized I was on vacation, in Illinois.
It was so much fun and I had some other interesting dreams as well, including dreams without vision. I accomplished my lucid goal of traveling through time, I went to the future.
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else has experimented with these, and if so feel free to post your experiences here. If not, why not live a little, go out buy some, try them, and post the experience here. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.![]()

Insanity is the mind's only effective defense against reality.
some times dreams are so good that it hurts to wake up... .
Yeah, i always smoke a ciggy before i attempt WILD or go to sleep and i almost always have vivid dreams.

Do you lot normally have reasonably vivid dreams anyway?
I'm tempted to try but I figure it probably won't work on me, since my dreams are normally about as vivid as a funeral director's tie.
and if you have wormwood tea before you go to bed, dreams are vivid and intense

Well, my dreams are usually fairly vivid, but this is a whole new level. Like I said, its difficult to distinguish dreams from reality. As in you will wake up and it will take you a minute to realize it was a dream. I'd at least give it a try. Be warned, its difficult to go lucid naturally due to the reality of the dreams, so try doing a wild, or interrupting your sleep.
That is the most hillarious thing I've read in a while. Thanks for making me laugh.
That stop smoking patch, which I can't recall the name of but it has the turtle and the hare themed commercial, says right on the commercial that it can cause startlingly vivid dreams.
I am tempted to try it :-) But, like nicotine and any other drug, it does have side effects might even be habit forming and might not work long term so your better off using it sparingly or using your own mind or not doing it at all.
I'm getting older so I don't much care if I mess my brain up a small amount

OK, I'll give 'em a go. Probably won't work for me though - all the other vividness aids that have been mentioned here don't seem to.I can't see that using 'em once or twice a week will cause addiction - I smoke my e-cigarette more frequently than that and I've never become addicted to it.
That's the first time anyone on this forum's ever laughed at one of my jokes! I thought they were all dead!![]()
