      Post Normal Dreaming

I was always curious to know if the way I dream is normal. I have noticed that I don't ever have dreams living a lifestyle that I currently am into which I won't really discuss due to privacy and when I stop living this lifestyle for one day I immediately dream again. It almost makes me not want to live this lifestyle because I used to love to dream and still do but in order to live this social lifestyle I have to sacrifice my dreams. I stopped living this lifestyle now for about a week and I have dreamt and had lucid dreams every day since. I wondered often if this is normal becuase I ask my friends and many of them don't dream or only dream occasionally and it always seems like my dreams are far more detailed. Why is it so easy for me to lucid dream without even intending to? I did a test last night to see again if the lifestyle I was living causes my lack of dreaming and my results proved right again. I didn't dream that night. Its very interesting to me how I can dream everyday since I've changed back to my anti-social lifestyle for only a week.

Well... I'm not entirely sure what your lifestyle entails. But, if it is stressful, that can kill dream recall, and living a stressless day can really fix that problem fast.

If your lifestyle is constructive, keep at it, if it is harmful to yourself (as I expect it to be if you don't have dreams) then I would hope you would stop.

      Anyway, good luck.

      Very interesting!
      for your hardships.

You seem to be in the middle of an emotional and/or spiritual conflict with yourself. To me, dreams represent the essence of who we are. Since you seem to enjoy dreaming and seem to loathe, to one degree or another, the lifestyle that makes the dreams stop... I would say your subconscience is asking you to make a choice. Are you going to be true to yourself or are you going to continue putting on a charade and sacrifice yourself to this society you seem to want to escape.
Ask yourself what's appealing about each- the lifestyle and your dream life- and what exactly are the pros and cons of each. If you can come to terms with the lifestyle in the pit of your being, your dreams will likely start again. But this seems to be a serious issue that you can't ignore for long if you hope to have any lasting peace of mind.

Sorry if I completely misunderstood your post.
In any case, I hope you find the answers your looking for soon.
