It all sounds completely normal to me.I originally discovered lucid dreaming by making myself wake up when I had nightmares, so it sounds to me like you're well on your way to figuring out how to do it even outside of those bad dreams.

Um Im just wondering if this is normal or not.
When I dream Its kinda like a story thats taking a place and I have no control over it. Kinda like someone is making me think and do things for me.
Like Mind control I guess???
Sometimes I will dream in 3rd person view Like Im watching myself do stuff?
The only times I do know if im dreaming is during a nightmare and I make myself wake up as soon as I realize its a dream.
Are any of these things normal??
( I just found out about LD last night)

Welcome!
Things you are describing are all very normal.
You realize that you are dreaming when you have nightmare because your mind recognizes that things such as nightmares are very unlikely to happen in real world. And of course without practice you will wake up right away.
By keeping dream journal and doing various exercises such as reality checks and other techniques you will be able to train your mind so it will realize that you are dreaming during normal dreams and not only nightmares. Also with time you will be able to stay in a dream world longer upon realizing you are dreaming.
Anyway, just check out forum and you will find TONS of information. It can be overwhelming at first but just give it a chance and stick around for a while.
When you have your first Lucid Dreams you will see how rewarding it is.

Thx , Im really excited about learning LD , and experience them in dreams.
A new world is waiting for me![]()
great to have you with us, and yeah all that stuff is pretty normal.
Most of the times i become lucid is by blocking my nose and breathing in through it.. which you cant obviously do in real life.
conclusion = I'm dreaming!
10 Lucid Dreams?

In all of the dreams I can remember, I've always been in control of what I do. Most of the time I think it's real life, only to feel like an idiot when I wake up. I have some sort of thought process in my dreams, definitely not a logical one, some of the stuff I dream about is really weird, yet I think it's normal.
When you say you're 'mind controlled' in a way, do you mean that you do things you don't want to do in dream situations?
"You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother." ~ Albert Einstein
"The most successful tyranny is not the one that uses force to assure uniformity but the one that removes the awareness of other possibilities, that makes it seem inconceivable that other ways are viable, that removes the sense that there is an outside." ~ Allan Bloom - The Closing of the American Mind

Those sound normal. I don't get lucid during nightmares though.
