      Revisiting Very Old Dreams

Ever experienced a dream you know you've experienced before, but must've been so long ago? I re-experienced quite a few of dreams that I haven't had since elementary years. It's pretty crazy when you wake up after it. You feel like you just came from the past and back to the present.

Like one of the dreams I had that I can still remember from long ago, I drew these stick figures. One had one foot on the bike and one on the ground, and he had a watch. I actually came back to this dream and walked past all this artwork I drew, and it looked the same from what I remember.

Another involved being in this clubhouse over a lake in this environment dome. Definitely had this before many years ago. I could just feel severe deja vu while I going around. Everything was old and dusty as if I wasn't there for quite some time, and all my old stuffed animals were in a corner stacked. Felt like I was in the single-digits again.

But yeah, those two are my examples I just had this morning. It feels pretty weird once you wake up...Like I adventured through very old dreams.

I have had dreams where I had the illusion that I had been to that place before/seen it before when it was just my mind playing tricks on me. Other than that I do have many lucid dreams about my room- most are FA's. However I have yet to have a nonlucid about an imagined location that appears more than in one dream- though I guess sooner or later it's bound to happen as the brain runs out of ideas

I often think I've re-experienced a recent dream but as there's no evidence in my DJ (now running unbroken for nearly 2 years) the re-experience is either a dream itself or I really have recalled a dream that escaped recall at the time. I tend to side with the former, although the latter certainly feels correct.

As for dreams from long ago, well I suppose it happens. I do wonder whether previously unrecorded dream memories are lodged in unconscious memory and can be recalled during a subsequent dream or e.g. hypnosis.

I wonder many things about dreams in fact. I even wonder whether dreams are real-time are they come about as a kind of flash-memory download that just give the illusion that they happened in real time.

I would say that I do quite often (not like every night though) re-visit dreams from the past. They will either be exactly the same dream from before and I will wake up and think that the dream felt familiar and that I was sure I had dreamt it before. Other times I will enter a dream and it will have picked up from a dream I had years ago, kind of like the continuation of a story. While I'am dreaming I will get the feeling that this has happened before.

Sometimes I have dreams I have dreamed 5 years ago. Pretty wierd. A shame I don't get lucid when I realize that I have had this dream before.

I have couple of dreams that seem to renew themselves once or twice in a year. I have seen those dreams since I was a child. They have very deep meaning for me because they always carry strange feeling of meaningfulness with them.

I haven't succeeded recreating them in lucids though. Not completely, at least, and I am not actually sure if I even want to.
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

That's actually on my list of things to do in lucids - resivisiting some old dreamplaces. I sometimes do it in non-lucids.

I do sometimes dream of things I've dreamt before, and it brings a sort of nostalgia feeling to me. But it's never gone as far back as it does with you, mine only go as far as about a year.
