what do you do with your dreams?

I was very curious to find out what exactly everyone does with their dreams once they have written them down?

for example do you try and interpret them to see what they mean

or maybe you just write down your dreams to improve recall and ultimately master lucid dreaming

or maybe you just write down your dreams and leave em

Personally i have never given much thought to deciphering my dreams
I enjoy them as i would a good story and sometimes they will inspire ideas but i don't really search for them in my dreams
I try and journal everyday and i do it succesfully about 80% of the time and I like to believe that im working towards mastering lucid dreaming but i know I'm not putting nearly enough effort into it but i still just enjoy remember some crazy adventures.

when i have around 100 dreams (or less) i am going to find a dream sign that ALL or almost ALL of my dreams posses. that way i can become lucid a lot easier. also i like to read them they can bring up so much powerful memory's. and some are fun to, ow yeah also help me motivate to dream lucid or at least remember more dreams!

My lucidity is next to zero, so my dreams aren't much use there. I try to engage with some of the more powerful elements of my dreams, such as significant DCs and my own feelings in different situations. When some kind of theme repeats itself in dreams, I wonder about what that might mean in real life.

I suppose it's a kind of interpretation. But I'm not so interested in what each image means (if indeed that's possible) so much as I am interested in the kind of person I was in the dream and how I relate to the DCs.

I don't really try to interpret my dreams. But if I have a really bad one, usually there's a glaring cause like I had a fight with my parents, and I can recognize it right away.

But I do like recording them and going over older dreams. A few weeks ago, I was looking through the first dream journal I started when I joined this site, and I'd forgotten half the dreams! It's fun to reread them and see how your mind grows.

And obviously, I record my dreams to improve my recall.

I don’t write them down but I always tell them to my husband at the breakfast table.
Especially when it comes to nightmares.
I don’t think that you should keep them secret – it’s better for you when you put words on what happened in your dream.

I don't do much interpretation. As the OP said, I usually just enjoy my dreams as good stories (and try to write them accordingly). But, often, I will draw, photo-manipulate, or 3D model ideas from my dreams.

I enjoy drawing my dreams on occasion too. The strange thing is, they look perfect in your mind, but once you start building them on paper, sometimes it becomes confusing as to where everything is and all.

I think I'm with most of the others on this. I consider dreams to be an interesting story spun by my own mind, and the closest I'll ever come to true virtual-reality. I don't put any stock into the "dream interpretation" books and Freudian symbolism. Obviously real world experiences can have an effect, but I don't think there are layered, hidden messages in my dreams.

I write down my dreams because I think they're interesting, and they sometimes inspire me. And since becoming aware of the lucid dream concept I hope to use a focus on my dreams to gain more control.

I write them down because they're epic.

Also, it's very helpful in attaining lucidity because you can easily find dream signs.

My dream signs range from all kinds of things, from rivers, certain places, paths, etc. Knowing what your dream signs are make it easier to do reality checks when you're confronted with these things in your real life.

I don't really do much with my dreams, it is for the most part an exercise in achieving lucidity. I don't think dreams have any inherent depth or meaning, in fact if I look at most of my dreams most of the things that happen usually seem to be a result of something I have thought about recently, or a variation of it.

I think the really interesting stuff comes when you are lucid because this is when you can consciously interact with the dream world and your subconscious.
