I already know french, but its probably easy compared to hebrew because french is so close to english in it's structure.

I know how to read and write hebrew... but the language is pretty difficult to just pick up.

Personally, I wouldn't use youtube, I would get a private tutor, or one of those "Rosetta stone" things.

its an awesome language, and its fun, but the grammar is different from english, and of course, the symbols are different, so it will be more difficult than spanish, french, italian etc

Reading and writing is more what I'm interested in, I'll do the actual speaking part once I can read and write decently.

I've found some pretty good Youtube ones amongst the rubbish "at a bar" or "fun phrases" videos. Care to take a look and tell me what you think? Here is the link. Thanks

And yea, Rosetta Stone looks good, I'll probably get it on down the line when I have a general Idea of reading and writing.

As in torrent it or something? I'd rather not steal it, and if I was going to buy it I would rather have the actual cd's.

But yea, thanks for the recommendation, I'm pretty sure I'll get it once I get into the general flow of the language so I know Im not going to be wasting money.

You could always look for an e-book on how to learn Hebrew in pdf format. Try googling something along the lines of learn hebrew language filetype:pdf. Also keep in mind that semetic languages like Hebrew and Arabic are written from right to left. The most important thing in learning another language is to practice using it, so it may help to learn with a friend so that you can practice together.
