Hey guys.
Well, this winter I'm planning a tentative trip to Australia and New Zealand, one week each. The problem is that none of my other friends have time off at the same time, so I might end up going there alone. I've never traveled alone and was hoping to get some input from other people...
Basically I've heard that on the one hand it can be great because it forces you to meet people, you can do what you want when you want... but that it can also get lonely.
Thoughts??

I have recently travelled alone. It also depends on where you are going.
But usually it is very easy to meet people, if you are the least bit outgoing
it won't be a problem and while you are travelling, you usually have a
pretty good conversation starter.
Plus, I personally very much liked being absolutely independent. I could really
do whatever I wanted - but also I don't mind spending time with myself once
in a while (reading, etc). So I even had the choice of meeting someone or
going along with some people I met and then could still decide, without
having to consider anything else, what I was going to do next. (It's not selfish,
just a nice experience while travelling, especially if you have travelled a lot
before)
And it feels different. I don't want to say more intense, because the shared
experience can have something very intense as well, but, especially when
you do that for the first time, it has something very liberating, imo. But that
depends on the kind of person you are and whatever your mindset is I guess.
But I'd recommend it to be honest. It helps to "grow" a lot.
WUT.... You mean winter for the southern hemisphere? As in June/July time for Australian winter or your winter in Korea?
I'm meant to be going over there at some point too - I've an auntie there and a friend who is travelling (kind of). She is meant to live there (the friend) but cant stay still for 5 minutes. If you need a tour guide, let me know and I will pass on your details to her![]()

I like to travel alone. Being with company isn't bad either. The thing is if you, like me, are fond of travelling long trips and staying on the road for months, then even the best friend of yours can become really annoying. Sharing rooms every night, hardships of the trip etc.
Being alone really gives you ultimate freedom, but depending on the place you are going it can be dangerous too. Usually, travelling together with someone makes you less vulnerable of being victim of different crimes.
My advice is that if you are going alone, get contacts everywhere. Talk to people, get familiar with their customs and exchange views.also it is good to send a email/text/notification to someone back home in regular intervals, so they know you are safe

Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.
Pretty girls never have to be lonely, if you know what I mean
As for traveling alone, it's a lot of fun, and gives you a chance to do things that you couldn't do when with a group. I recommend not doing hotels, bring a tent, a backpack, and a bag full of weed. Get more in tune with nature, especially in New Zealand, never been, but loots absolutely gorgeous.
When you're in Australia, go snorkeling on the reef. At the rate the seas are heating up, it won't be around too much longer, large chunks of it have already died![]()
