Unfortunately, my momma right now after smoking her entire adult life is waiting for a biopsy for a spot they've found on her lung.

Raging alcoholic.

My Mom Is a paranoid Schitzophrenic. unfortunately she was the only parent around in the first 6 years of my life. Hence the wierdness. But i think i turned out ok. At least that's what the voices tell me

100% normal.

Seeker... sorry to hear. What a tense and terrible thing to endure - the waiting is just the worst. Your family is in my prayers.

Alex... what can I say? My wife's mom was as well, though I loved her dearly. She left us a couple years ago. (I will add that where there's life, there's hope. I'm a sober alcoholic - been sober a long time now. It had to be my own decision though.)

Ranma - living with a schizophrenic parent is quite a survival skill. I have a good friend with a schizophrenic mother, and she's spent years learning to deal with it. It's like living on broken, thin ice, from what I understand.

My mom is old - very old. My dad's older, but he has hung on to life with tenacity, is still active and sharp. Sadly, my mother has chosen to spend the last years of her life on a couch, watching TV and letting the world pass her by. We are facing that most ugly decision right now of whether she can even stay at home anymore, as she's atrophied to the point she cannot care for herself anymore, and my dad is about at the end of his ability to care for her.

In her day, she was a good mom. I think she did pretty well, all things considered.

Health freak. Her tendencies have not passed over to me, I'm more of a daddy's girl myself. She's one of those run marathons, donate to the poor, helps abandon puppies, kind of people. While eating McDonalds she always says "I'm going to live longer than you are if you keep eating like that." But hey, I'll die happy eating my McDonalds. I love her to pieces though.

Completely average Scottish woman, really.

My mom is awesome. We're only 20 years apart in age so we were always good friends too. Everytime she and are together, everyone asks me 'who's your hot friend!' She would do anything for my sister and I, and I love her to pieces!

Well, Fortunately, I wasn't around it for too long. It did take a while, For me to actually believe that there wasn't any strange people out to hurt me, (a fear my mother would constantly drive into me and my bro.) She was paranoid of everything. we got pulled outta schools, switched provinces once or twice. And I thought all this crazy shit was real.

Nowadays, it's something we all sort of accept. There's some pretty funny humorous situations we get into sometimes when we take her out. For example, we went to a mall foodcourt one time. We're sittin there and then My mom says in a matter of factly way "Hey boys, remember when your dad use to rape you!", she said it so loud, that everyone in the foodcourt was staring at us. My Grandpa said "NOO!!! their father never did that to them, your making it up!"

Of course this provoked her further. Next thing you know she's yelling "NO!!! it REALLY happened! They were raped by their dad." Suddenly people are leaving their tables with full plates of food. Me and my brother just start laughing 'cause it's funny. So yeah, i had a pretty strange childhood!

My mom smokes alot... we try to stop her from time to time... but no results...

My mom drinks alot, without problems, but still...

My mom worries alot... a LOT!!!!!! It isn't normal anymore.

My mom has the tendency to tell the same thing about 8 times in the same conversation, all in just a SLIGHTLY different way than the one before... This is really annoying

My mom has the tendency to start talking to people when they want to follow a conversation/converse with other people. With is somewhat annoying given that you are then listening to 2 people at once...

lol. That sounds pretty hilarious. However, I don't know or I could laugh about it if it was my mom. However, you can. That is great, otherwise it would just ruin your life.
