Very interesting technique. I will certainly try it today seeming as all the other techniques make me fall asleep!![]()
Will post the results.

Last night I was sort of trying the reverse-blinking technique. I would start to fall asleep, but then I would wake up and be afraid that I'd be having a FA. So I kept looking at my hand and counting my fingers. (I sleep with the TV on--long story to that.)
Anyway, once I had a FA and had a very VERY quick LD, but the shock that it worked (I counted my fingers and there were six) woke me right up.
I was wondering if others could test this out who maybe have had trouble with reverse blinking. I think the constant RC while falling into sleep induces you into a somewhat immediate RC upon falling asleep. Here are the step-by-steps if you haven't gathered from my post:Please let me know if this works for anyone.
- 1. Relax in bed, making sure that there's enough light in the room to be able to look at your hand adequately.
2. Keep your hand somewhat near your face so that it's easy to look at without having to move it *too* much. (I moved my hand up to my face every time, but it may be easier if you can get in a position where you don't need to as much).
3. Count your fingers, making sure there are five (or.. you know, the proper amount for your hand if your hand is disfigured in some way....).
4. Every two to three minutes or so, open your eyes and again count the number of fingers on your hand.
Thank you!

For some reason Hand RC dodn't work for me anymore.
At first lucids I had, every time I looked my hand I saw something weird like six of seven fingers, or a hand of energy -hard to explain that-, or a see through hand!
Now my hand is absolutely realistic! I can't figure why, maybe because my lucids became very vivid lately. Or maybe because I used to look my hand a lot in waking life as an RC, and I have a complete and detailed picture of this.
I even lost the opportunity to became lucid some times when this started, because of my "realistic" dream hands
I wonder if that happened to other dreamers here.
I'll be sure to try this tonight.
Im not sure if the hand tech would work for me or not, seeing as my dreams are as solid and clear as IRL, i guess ill try and expect there to be 6 fingers?
I use reverse blinking in school to make me sleepy.
--Trying this in....5minutes lol im going to sleep now. Ill post results tommorrow.

I"d like to figure out a way to try this, but I sleep with the room so dark I wouldn't be able to see my hand. I really don't think I can change that... I wonder if I could modify it with another RC. It sounds like it has to be visual tho to be combined with reverse blinking. I'm going to have to think about a way to try this.
ivey...do you think your succes at LD may be linked to the TV being on? Or do you do it just as easily when it's not on?

I try not to sleep without it being on because (without going into major details) I have had nightmares without it on ever since I had a child that died. But in the times when the cable has been out, I mute the television and let the snow sit on the TV, and I still have LD's, so my *guess* is that it's just my natural ability more than the TV.
Although, I attempted something on here before... oh it was the thing where you dial the phone number of someone in a LD that you know well and see what happens. I listened and all I could hear was the soft drone of the news on the TV IRL. So it's not completely "out" of my dreaming mind when it's on.

Dose anyone have a link for the Reverse BLinking tech that your talking about?
I know how to "RB", and its very easy for me, i herd about it on this forum but i never knew there was a LD tech attached to it...unless its just "RB" before sleep? I dont know how that would help besides make you fall alseep faster.
One think i want to do..i have little stars on my ceiling that glowI want to take them all down, and get really good ones and line like 4 up above my bed. This way, when i check my reality in a WILD i dont have to move my body, i can just look up at the glowing stars and expect there to be 5. I guess i could incorperate that into this tech? Keep looking up at stars RC instead of having to move my hand and look at it, which gets very tiring especcially while "Rb-ing" which makes me very sleepy fast.
Anyway, i tried just doing Hand RC's every few minutes lastnight, unfortunatily i didnt have any recall at all so i dont really know if it helped.

I'm sorry ivey; I just got back to this thread and saw what you wrote. When dreams are bad, they can be the worst feeling in the world. I understand the need to block them out sometimes.
I was just grasping (as usual) to find out the source of your ability.
I would like to try the phone thing sometime. I may be able to do it; I am starting to remember to do things that I want to do in my dreams. Your influence is helping!
Pretty interesting technique. It sounds like it has a good chance of working. I'll make sure I'll try it tonight.
It seems like it be a little creepy and unsettling opening your eyes, thinking that you're awake, and seeing that you have six fingers. Haha, I can't wait!

Right now I'm sleeping in my daughter's room, (she's in our bed with Wifey) actually it's a really good thing, lets me do all the LD'ing silliness that I need to without bothering Wifey.. heh... and I put glowing stars (in actual constellation configurations) all over her ceiling when she was born. Orion & Draco (the two seen from whithin the great Pyramid)
It's really nice to go to dream to.
ivey, being a parent I cannot even fathom what that must have been like for you to go through. My prayers are with you. Here's a little gift just for you. Enjoy!

Maybe I missed it, but would you suggest sleeping a while and then waking up a few minutes before doing this? I'm willing to try it out, but I don't think I'll be able to fall asleep for a long, long time if I do it directly from waking to sleeping, unless I'm really exhausted..

Thanks everybody.
I did this technique while falling asleep, but once I get into bed, sleep doesn't come with any difficulty. I suppose this technique should be done whenever you know for sure that you're going to fall asleep.
And thanks, Phydeaux_3, that was really nice.![]()

I'll try a different style of this technique. Beacuse the hand RC never works on me, I'll be closing my nose about every 3-2 mins. Easier, and doesn't need light.
