      Sporadic Awareness Technique (SAT)
Using awareness in small increments to quickly and easily become lucid.

Dont be scared about the wacky design of the site. The tones work better in WBTB, but they also work when you go to bed first (only a little). Here are the tones you should try:

Mind trap - This one seems to help WILDing (friends results). I tried a WILD listening to it, did nothing, I ended up falling asleep. Then I woke up again and turned it off. Then I fell asleep and I had a DILD!
Lucid dreaming - I Think I never tried it but give it a shot, listen to it when you go to bed first or in WBTB.
Lucid spike - (only in WBTB) Again never tried this one, but some guys had results with this. Basically this mp3 has a 20 minute silence, then it will gradually make you lucid. NOTE: Use this when you fall asleep.

PS: If you listen to one of these just put them on repeat. Also good news, they dont need phones so you can listen to them with columns

I used them with headphones while going to sleep, the regular Lucid Dream one on their site. It helped me relax and fall lightly asleep where it woke me an hour later, but I didn't move. I couldn't it gave me sleep paralysis! Normally not being able to move would scare the crap out of me, but I knew what to do. Unfortunately the SP wore off and I went back to bed without it. I did have 2 lucid dreams back to back when doing a WBTB that morning afternoon though.

This guide helped me a bit with my developing method!

I was in a school, then I noticed how blurry my vision was (paying attention to surroundings as described in the guide), then I did a RC and it failed.

This happened within a week or two of reading your guide, so it has some pretty fast results!

After reading this, that night or morning I had 2 back to back LDs

I just had my first LD tonight (a really short one but AWESOME that this actually works...) and what did the trick for me was pinching my nose and still being able to inhale air through the nose. Then I wrote about that a couple of hours ago, and Puffin reacted, and so I started reading this guide I think the guide is more or less a very compact summary of the introductional texts on dreamviews.com, and it does a good job at that. Very functional!

A couple of days ago I had my first dream (as far as I recall, at least) where I actually remembered to try reality checks, the more technical ones, like light switches, and reading a book. I replaced the reading a book in my dream with trying to fix a bug in a big Unix script (that was what came to mind then, me being a computer programmer I guess ). But the book was fine, the light switches worked like a charm, the clocks were believable and even the Unix script was fine! Which totally baffled me after I woke up again. I didn't achieve lucidity in that dream, but I think I knew in my dream something was up because I was very frantic in all those reality checks, while in real life the reality checks are never that exciting and frantic

I would guess that me constantly thinking very technically and analitically during waking hours the whole day (because of the software developing job AND hobby ) makes it easy for me in my dreams to pass those technically-oriented reality checks. And this night I tried the quite weird nose pinch trick, and that worked like a charm!

I'm not exactly sure what my suggestion would be (or if I have any right to suggest suggestions after only 1 lucid dream and a very short one at that ) but I would say: try to pick reality checks that don't make a lot of sense to you, because I assume that the checks that do something that you are really used to during daylight (like looking at a phone or clock, I do that at least a hundred times every day ) have a lot of chance of producing results that you are used to anyway. I myself have wondered what time it is at least thirty gazillon times in my life, but I have NEVER wondered if I can breathe through my nose if I pinch it closed

I had my third lucid dream last night! It was another very short one, but it's a milestone for me in that it's the first time I've successfully done a reality check while lucid - I pressed my index finger hard against the palm of my hand, and no lie, that shit went right through. I'm so pleased
Lucidity is the opposite of being lost in your thoughts.

Congrats! I remember the first time my finger went through... Wow, it was strange.

The only two reality checks I've experienced in a dream are the finger count and the nose pinch. When I did the nose pinch, I was already lucid; I did it out of curiosity. All of my lucid dreams have come from the finger count.

Congratulations on the LD! And, the nose-pinch IMO is the best reality check out there. It works in the dark, and it's convenient because your nose is always there for pinching.

I don't often do the finger-count; the last time I did it was probably a month or so ago. I usually do the nose-pinch, digital clock, and finger-through-palm ones.

I actually do all of those. When I RC, I count my fingers, check my watch twice, and try to push my finger through my palm. I only do the nose pinch in private because it's more conspicuous then those aforementioned.

I'm a DILD maniac now! I probably am having one almost every night! Unfortunately, because of my bad dream recall (a result of school), I only remember them once every few nights...

Thanks Puffin for your guide!!! I'm a big fan of neatness, I love how clearly you wrote it out, very easy to follow. NICE.
I feel that I've mastered dream recall pretty well now, so your guide is great because it outlines what I should do next.
Now I'll be working on cultivating awareness of my surroundings every day, I'm really going to take all these tips to heart.

Awesome! My recall's dipped because of school too...

Great guide! I love it and shall try it very soon. And about the pinching RC from all the way up the page. I usually use the hand through palm RC but pinching has never worked for me... And i have great dream recall.

I'm kind of upset... I started improving my dream recall so that I could remember all the DILDs I was having, and then, all of a sudden, I seemed to have stopped having them. *Sigh*

And if your nose isn't there... then you know you're dreaming!

Nice guide Puffin, I definitely think general awareness is a must. That's what I want to work on right now, because I can be pretty oblivious in real life too... I think meditation will help though. If you'd like to add that to your guide, I'm sure it'll be helpful. It's not for everyone, of course.

Thank you so much, I just had my first LD tonight!
It's true what you said earlier, you don't need those fancy dream signs, you just need to be AWARE. Thanks again, you really helped me getting to the next level of dreaming!

That happens with me too sometimes; I end up not having DILDs for a few days but then they're back... With a vengeance!

Lol, right. And thank you! Unfortunately I can't edit the original post anymore, but if I get enough new things to add, I'll definitely ask a mod to update it.

Well shit, there's lucid dream #4. Once again, I woke up almost instantly. I think i have a problem here.
Lucidity is the opposite of being lost in your thoughts.

I've also been keeping a dream journal, which is something you might want to add to the guide. Also, another good RC I perform is the finger-through-palm, which is one of the quickest and easiest to do, I've found.

      Overall, great job, and thanks!
Thanks, I'm glad it helped. And I'll add the finger-through-palm reality check to the list.

      Thanks for the guide Puffin'.

I've been working on this for over a week now and last night I had my first (agonizingly short) moment of lucidity in 5 months or so!
They say that dreams are only real as long as they last. Couldn't you say the same thing about life?
