Shattered Moon
September 15, 2008
The dream starts non-lucid. I encounter a place where Mr. Burns is messing with Smithers. Smithers would offer him something, and Mr. Burns would send him away to his office. As soon as Smithers was in his office, Mr. Burns would call him and order the thing he just refused.I walk around in a house that has room after room after room ad infinitum.
Approaching a side door to a staircase my mind suddenly kicks into gear and lucidity activates. Now I'm in my living room. It's nighttime, but all the lights are on.
For a while now, I've wanted to try something wherein I would call upon a black hole to enter the sky, and then propel myself towards it, eventually being caught in the gravitational field and being pretty much squished onto the singularity. Hoping to accomplish this, I walk out to my top porch. Directly ahead, a large moon. Despite my attempt, a black hole will not form where it is.
Time for creativity. The upper porch has a fake moss flooring. I bend down and peel off a circular piece - the "black hole". I hook it to the blackened sky, and it immediately begins to pull on the moon. It grows closer, creating a spectacle, a solar eclipse. When it's full, the moon shatters into four large chunks. With the moon no longer keeping back the coloration, the sky turns blue, and thousands of stars appear, little white dots in the sky. I'm fully aware that it's only a dream, so I try to keep the sudden intimidation in my heart at bay. But it wins out and I go back in my house and head for my bedroom.
It's quite a small room. I sit on my bed and decide to test the integrity of the dream via tactile sensation. I rub the bed, and it is soft, just a little more so than my real bed. I grab my black metal chair and feel the metal aspects of it. They are smooth and sturdy, like the real one. I sit on the ground and feel my pillow. Again, quite similar to real life.
My head turns to the right to look at my door. It's a sliding door which stays shut with the help of a small magnet. The door is a little open and out of habit I shut it. Then I turn away and look back. It's reopened itself, so I close it again. Then I turn away and look back. It's opened once more. I stand up and smack the thing. Just before I shout to it, "What have I told you about opening yourself?!" I realize that my parents have probably been disturbed by the sound. After all, the door is less than ten feet away.
I look at their opened door, and see both of them have gotten up. My dad starts to walk towards me. Oh boy, I'm in for it, I think, not recalling that it's only a DC and not the acutal person. I realize he's probably off to get his coffee and not go for me.
