      What the hell happened!!
this morning i moved my neck ( not even fast) and then i heard a big ripping sound like muscle tore and then i couldn't move my upper body it was so pain full.
I laid there for 10 mins and i decided this is just getting worse i need to get my mum.
i sat up which made me cry and scream and i started to panic.
I was going to go to the doctors but mum said it was just a strain in my neck.
but was the ripping sound suppose to happen?
i put dencol rub ( how ever you spell it) the heat gel and i have also had a hot bath i have been trying to move my neck around and its gotten much much better but i have no idea what happened!
      can someone help me!

my body is so screwed up....
      anyways!
      anything will be appreciated thanks!

      ok then.

but anyway, something similar, but not nearly as bad happens to me sometimes, quite rarely. and i have no idea why. i think it is something to do with having your neck in a particular position and it does something to the muscle, like traps it or something, then when you move (at what ever speed) it pulls it. well, thats what it feels like it is doing anyway.

      Uhm....
      ?How is that funny!
      That hurt! it isn't funny
i figured out what it was i searched it up.
i have a grade III strain and there are Three stages of it.

Doctors closely observe an injured site and ask questions to
obtain information to diagnose the severity of a sprain. In
general, a grade I or mild sprain is caused by overstretching
or slight tearing of the ligaments with no joint instability. A
person with a mild sprain usually experiences minimal pain,
swelling, and little or no loss of functional ability. Bruising

A grade II or moderate sprain is caused by further, but still
incomplete, tearing of the ligament and is characterized by
bruising, moderate pain, and swelling. A person with a
moderate sprain usually has more difficulty putting weight
on the affected joint and experiences some loss of
function. An x ray may be needed to help the health care
provider determine if a fracture is causing the pain and
swelling. Magnetic resonance imaging is occasionally used
to help differentiate between a significant partial injury
and a complete tear in a ligament, or can be
recommended to rule out other injuries.

People who sustain a grade III or severe sprain completely
tear or rupture a ligament. Pain, swelling, and bruising
are usually severe, and the patient is unable to put weight
on the joint. An x ray is usually taken to rule out a broken
bone. When diagnosing any sprain, the provider will ask
the patient to explain how the injury happened. He or she
will examine the affected area and check its stability and
its ability to move and bear weight.

I hope that helped. Their are other good sites i would look them up if i were you slash.
lol i still don't get what's so funny...

I've had something similar happen to me. It happened a lot when I was a teen/young adult and now it rarely happens (thank goodness). Whenever I would quickly move my head from straight ahead to looking to either side and slightly up, a muscle or something in my neck would "pop". It was very excruciating but lasted only a few seconds (though it would be tender for a long time afterward).
It was almost as if the muscle became stuck under a bone or something and then forcefully sprang lose.

I hope you're feeling better today.

You didn't rip anything, torn muscles don't make any sound, they just hurt. More likely, you heard vertebrae and disks scraping against each other. That's not great either, but that's what all of the padding between bones is there for.

Lay on a heating pad for a couple of days. Don't know how cold it gets there in the winter, but if you can find a warm pool, do some (very) light swimming.
