      Yoga? Yoga!

I do yoga occasionally. I try to do it everyday in the morning, but school gets in the way sometimes (or maybe its just me being lazy). Any other practicers of yoga here? I think it is great for physical fitness, but more importantly for mental clarity. If you do practice, how has it affected your daily life?

The best thing about doing yoga in the morning, especially early morning before most people are up, is the peace of mind that comes with knowing that you are one of the few people alive (awake) right now, and I find this to greatly enhance the experience.

My main form of exercise is weightlifting, but I do yoga-ish poses along with closing my eyes in meditation, while getting a good stretch. I also do it under the sun for maximum health benefits.

I've recently been getting really into yoga this past year. I think it's a great relaxation method and it really loosens me up. I feel less pent up and more controlled since I've started.

Definitely! Yoga is one of those few things in life that has kept me down on earth. If only more westerners knew what good it does both mind and body.

I got into yoga about 7 months ago. For me I do a lot of heat yoga. It is one of those things that I would never be WILLING to give up. It is almost like mediation for me. My wife bought me a 5 time certificate for it and I was like.. WTF???? I was like, you can go because I will not. She was doing heat yoga a few years before this and thought I would like it. Well, YUP, I ended up going and it has helped me mentally, physically and very much so spiritually. The first few times I was so worried about farting in childs pose. LOL I remember how self conscious I was those first few times. Now, it's like it is me, my mat and my mind. Anyhow, gotta go, peace out!

Yoga is a sublime experience, destroying chronic patterns of stress and eliminating muscle tension at its source. I can't say enough how amazing it's been for my daily life, and I haven't even really gotten into yogic philosophy or the meditation aspect, just the calming or stimulating poses. I find it better and easier to practice alone, rather than in a class. I dunno, something about everybody else breathing and doing the same thing at the same time as me. It's too intimate a moment to be shared with strangers, and I love strangers. Anyway, all it takes is a couple books, a few feet of carpet and you're set. My body thanks me loudly at the start, and at the finish.

Another note, one branch of yoga that's not as common is called pranayama, which is breath control. This is learning to understand and utilize the incredible power of deep breathing (as well as other modes of breathing) in ways that are purported to increase awareness, focus, energy levels and the powers of the mind. Sounds like the perfect practice for an oneironaut, hmm?

Yoga is a good workout for our physical fitness and mental relaxation.
It not only improve our fitness level, body strength, body balance, and stamina but also plays an important role to deal with the stress, depression, and anxiety. Yoga should be included in our routine workout for the better physical and mental health.

I love it! I can alway count on a good yoga session to keep me relaxed and feeling strong. Got a new mat recently which I haven't used yet because I'm waiting for this essential oil I got on eBay to arrive so that I can do this DIY yoga mat cleaner to always keep the mat smelling good and sweat free.

Yoga is great! Some yoga classes are for fitness, some are for meditation, some are for flexibility, etc. I do many different types. There is one in particular though called "Sound It Out." Actually, it's not so much yoga rather instead, I lay down and listen while the instructor plays the gong and crystal bowls. You literally go on a mental journey! It's amazing. If you ever get a chance, go to a yoga class where they utilize the gong and crystal bowls within the practice.

With my current work scheduel, I've shortened my yoga to just 5-10 minutes in the morning though. Honestly though, the good stretch from it is amazing for starting your day; it really gets the blood/lymph going. Inversions will work great too for getting blood flowing to your brain to kickstart your workday. Lately, I've been doing a lot of balance work - especially on weekends - due to some research I've been reading. The research is showing that a more developed vestibular sense (sense of balance) is linked to increased lucid dreaming activity.

Dhalsim is okay. But SRSly, Yoga is great, Pilates is great. Work in some calisthenics and maybe some weight training. A complete fitness system. Trail running is my favorite.

Yoga relaxes me and helped me sleep better. Also helped me with back pain relief.
