Exclamation Can one communicate through dreams? (Boyfriend and I had matching dreams)

My boyfriend and I had (almost) the exact same dream. He has been on a cruise for the past 4 days, and we were unable to talk. He has been gone all spring break. The only difference in our dream was location. We both knew we were dreaming. In fact, in my dream, I turned to him and said "I know this is only a dream, but please don't go yet." and then he said "I'll see you soon love". He vanished, and I woke up. On his end of the dream, I vanished and he woke up. We have done things before like this, but in those times, we've dreamed the other halves of each others dream (Long story.) What I want to know is, were we communicating to each other through our dreams because we couldn't in reality, or was it just a coincidence?

You might want to look into shared dreaming, if it is real then it is totally possible that yall communicated through a dream.

I suggest trying to learn for yourself if it was true, if you and your boyfriend started practicing lucid dreaming then moved onto shared dreaming you could prove for yourself that it is real.

There is no proof that shared dreaming exists, but science doesn't know everything so give it a try.

Our opinions don't really matter, people either believe in shared dreaming or don't, so it is more important that you chose what you want to believe

I often talk to those far away geographically in Dream state... especially if I am worried about them and I can not reach them with more ~conventional~ means.
I agree with WinRic, it does not matter if others believe, it is only important that you do.
What is cool about it, even though it hardly seems plausible to most, is that Dream time, in no way, had to work like regular 3d time. ( I believe it was the Cusp who started a good thread about it a while back)

God I hope not I'd very much like my dreams to remain personal.

I believe it. I have never done anything like that in a dream. I once telepathically communicated with a willing friend when I was very young though.

If we all knew each others' business, we'd all feel less strange. Everyone says that weird stuff has happened to them but most don't discuss that weird stuff.
