Post your "DREAM IN A DREAM'" dream :)

I had a dream in which i was sleeping in my room (in reality i was not sleeping in my room) and had a dream which i was in a very colorful land which had lots of animated characters(eg. mickey mouse) i realized that it was a dream and started flying but then i remembered that i had read on DREAM VIEWS that getting too excited in lucid dream makes u wake up so i calmed down but still woke up. I regreted that i had not kept calm when actually i was still dreaming. soon i woke from the primary dream and realized that IF i had done a reality check i would have lucid dreamed.

I recently dreamed that I was lying in bed, and induced a lucid dream within the dream! Which technically was lucid beyond that point considering I had complete awareness, regardless of what led me to that state. Ironically the setting of the dream of myself in bed felt semi-realistic, however once I dream slept, it became less vivid, almost creepy. I could feel myself on the bed, and in the dream I was beside it walking back and fourth in circles. I then quickly woke myself without struggle, leading me to a very brief moment of Sleep Paralysis. I actually posted about it here: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...paralysis.html
The subconscious mind is very confusing indeed, lol.

Quite a few times i have had a dream in a dream and even a dream in a dream in a dream in a dream lol, that one was very confusing.

Though i have long since forgot the details of these as they were quite some time ago i do have this recurring thing where for example if i have to be somewhere or have to go meet someone i have sometimes dreamt i have gotten out of bed, got dressed and am going for the bus etc only to wake and realise i am now running late lol.

What most people call dreams within dreams are actually just False Awakenings. FAs are just what they sound like, you waking up into another dream. Then you normally wake up for real, or you get a couple FAs in a row. A nice trick to get lucid off of these FAs is to perform a RC whenever you wake up/get out of bed. Most FAs tend to land you in your bed as if you were getting up for the day, hence why they often go undetected, but this can be used to have more LDs from it.

Personally, I occasionally get FAs, or dreams within dreams, but not too often, and they usually aren't very entertaining. It actually gets kind of annoying when I don't catch one with a RC and then go through the struggle of getting up and out of bed then getting ready for the day (I am not a morning person) only to have to do it all over again. I suppose that could just be motivation to be sure you RC whenever you wake up, though

Never heard them called false awakenings before but i guess that term actually makes sense and is a good way to describe them.

Trying not to sound like a n00b but whats RC?

I thought i saw an acronyms thread somewhere when i was lurking but alas i can't remember where i saw it and can't find it again

      I've had two

So you know how when you're not lucid, the dream is kinda like watching a movie where everything has been planned out; my dream was kinda like that. I was dreaming and when I had fallen asleep I had another dream. Apparently when I was just in the dream (not the dream within the dream yet) I had a mission actually where I had to fall asleep to fix something within my dreams (which produced the dream inside the dream). So I dreamt I had a mission and all inside the dream within the dream and I was about to be hit by a bus. Of course I got scared when the bus passed, but it was kinda part of the dream for me to say "this is only a dream" so I never achieved lucidity. And the rest I can't really remember...

In my other dream, I gained lucidity, but it was still very blurry and I had no control. The reason why I gained lucidity was because in the dream I had a machine attached to my bed that would make me have a lucid dream. Then I realized, "I don't have a machine on my bed, this must be a dream!" But the machine actually did make me fall asleep and I entered immediately another dream within the dream. I was lucid of course, but I had no control. It started in my room and so I left and walked around. My house was not like how it was, it seemed like just a bunch of rooms connected by doors instead of hallways or anything. I decided that I wanted to find the hottest guy and so made a door and he came through it. That was when I woke up.

That is very similar to my recent experience. Though during my 1st dream I thought I was awake just lying in bed trying to make a lucid dream, which I did within that dream. Then I was lucid but it felt weird. I was standing beside my bed. It was dark and very vague. Almost creepy. I then woke up and for a brief moment underwent sleep paralysis. Odd experience. I was thinking a lot of LDs that night too.

I had a false awakening a couple nights ago. My first dream I was in some tribe, and I think that's because I was playing a fantasy card game before sleeping which would explain the impractical clothing...
It wasnt a very long dream because I 'woke up' very soon later, after becoming aware that there was something not quite right, however I didn't become fully lucid, and ended in the room I fell asleep in.
It took a while for me to wake up, I mean I'd been prancing about as per usual for quite a while before I actually woke up, it was rather confusing and distracting.
