I need knowledgeable people to answer my one question...

      Can dreams predict the future?

There's this girl that I love since forever, but I almost never think of her nor dream of her and I haven't seen her in almost 4 years. Yesterday I dreamed of her. In that dream we were hanging out at some house and I felt there was some tension between us, meaning that I still love her like always. The dream was basically me trying to make her like me the way I like her not just as friends. When I woke up I felt ,like, kinda happy, kinda depressed, idk both at the same time, just a weird sensation. All day long I felt that way, feeling like I was going to see her after all these years. Surprise surprise, in my last bus to home in that day, guess who I saw? yup her I saw her. I sat besides her and we talked the whole trip, about work and how was life ... but while that was happening I was feeling really awkward, because of the dream that I had just a few hours ago. Until now I'm still speechless on how on earth in the same exact day that dream of her, after 4 years without seeing/speaking with each other, I see her in that same exact day? how? can someone tell me what are the odds!
      Thank you

I dont think there is enough evidence here to say dreams can predict the future in that way but I think its great that you got to see her after such a long time. : )

I had some OBEs(not dreams) whose look like prediction of future, which came true (more or less exactly). But I had many more of such, which didn't come true. My conclusion from my experiences is, that prediction of future through dream is most probably impossible.
Those OBEs which come true were either a lucky guess, or, when it was about very close future, it could be case of telepathy, which is in my opinion more possible than seeing future.

The same thing happened to me man, I am not sure if they can predict the future, but your experience and mine as well are pretty eerie. I hadn't talked to a girl I liked for a long time, she had gone to a different school, and one night I had this very long dream about her. The next day she calls me, and turns out she was coming back.

I don't know if they are coincidences or not, but it really makes you wonder doesn't it.

I don't believe that they can, but I guess that depends on your beliefs...

Truth be told, I see dreams as a reflection of what I see or think or feel. Which isn't always reassuring, as I dream some nasty things sometimes, but I believe that dreams are all in my head. Nothing more.

It doesn't mean I'm right. We all believe in what we believe, and I could be wrong. If you believe that dreams mean something more, then that is it for you.

      Lightbulb CO-INCIDENCE Knowledge

The odds are it is morely to be struck by lightning twice than this be coincidence.
I guess statistically one might say chances are over 1 in a 1000 over 4 years. But that won't explain the evidence for such a likelihood.
For what does coincidence really mean? The world has it back to front. It means when 2 events co-incide, because you and her are linked.

Maybe. I've had a few dreams that seemed to warn me or inform me on what was about to happen in the near future. In one case I was warned about a person close to me that was about to die in a few months without me being aware of it, and even today I regret dismissing that dream as nonsense. But even so, I do not believe I have ''psychic'' powers or anything like that.

Nobody is knowledgable about subjects like this unfortunately. By its very nature it's the kind of thing that can never be proved or disproved - it's a strictly subjective thing. Whether a dream predicts the future or not is something an individual can only decide for themselves, and that depends largely on their attitude toward the supernatural. I used to not believe in anything like dreams predicting the future, or telepathy, but I had several experiences that have opened me up to these possibilities. Telepathy more so, but sometimes dreams do seem to show the future. I don't know if there's only one possible future, or if the dreams are only showing us a likely future. My belief is that the future is not fixed and can't be because of the sheer complexity of choices and possibilities - though to an extent I suppose the immediate future is more predictable than long term.

But here's the fatal flaw in the idea of dreams predicting the future - how would you know beforehand if it was accurately predicting something, or if it's just a regular dream? And if you don't know, then how is it any different from a guess that later turns out to come true? I don't see any usefulness in dreams predicting events if you can't know they're accurate beforehand. But then that's a statement about utility - not about whether dreams can predict the future or not. On that question I can only say I don't believe it, but I'm somewhat open to the possibility.

Question about your situation: Do you see this girl occasionally, and do you dream about her sometimes? If so then what makes this particular day any different? It would seem you just happened to dream about her and then see her on the same day. It doesn't sound like the dream definitely told you that you were going to see her that day.
