      Lots of Lovebirds

I think this dream is significant somehow but have no clue what it could all mean...
      A little history:
-- I own a lovebird named Sunny - Lovebirds can not be introduced easily if they don't get along they are known to kill each other.
-- The location of this dream is the place were me and my boyfriend broke up last Sunday. The upper outdoor deck of his home. I broke up with him because after 2 years of dating he could not say definitively that he loved me or was sure he could see a future with us. He gave me alot of "I don't knows" up to the point I cut the ties, and I have not been 100% happy with my decision. In fact I'm pretty much devastated.

SO: The dream starts I'm on his deck, and bird Sunny is in a cage off to the side...there is a female there (but I'm not sure who but I feel like she is close with me) all of a sudden a Black and Pink lovebird lands on the banister of the deck...(black and pink is a not existing mutation in lovebirds) it is friendly and doesn't bite, I go to put it in Sunny's cage with him, but remember they could kill each other so another cage is there when i turn around...and another green and orange lovebird (very odd coloring) is on top of the new cage I take that one and put it in with the pink and black lovebird...again its friendly. I look out from the deck and I see lots of brightly colored lovebirds and they keep coming to me (friendly) and I think "wow a breeder must have let them all go we have to save them" So one by one they are coming to me and I'm putting these lovebirds in the cage. Now I'm worried there isnt enough room...
The at that on the floor of the deck I see this very small lovebird (but could have been a parakeet) I pick it up and it is blind...I am scared to put it in the the other birds but the remainder of the dream is me focusing on this blind bird which is yellow and white. I feel like i need to protect and take care of it...more so then the others. And then the dream ends...I woke this morning wondering why this happened...any thoughts?

The only way that it could have gotten any cooler is if once you stuffed all the birds into the cage, THEN they started killing each other. LOL..

      Just kidding.

If you're looking for analysis, then I'll be the taker.
I'd say all these birds represent all the shmucks who wouldn't realize how lucky they would be to have you. You have to wade through these guys like a kiddie pool. The little blind fellow represents the one that needs you most and would feel lucky to be with you. He'd love you just like you want and he wouldn't see any girl but you. Until you find him, he may never see because you know - you'd complete him.

Now if you're one of those people who believes that every character in the dream represents the dreamer, then this dream won't make one lick of sense, considering there are tons of birds.

Sorry about your guy troubles. We can be major cockadookie assholes sometimes. I always disliked people who would never commit.
Life in a box is better than no life at all, I expect. You'd have a chance, at least. You could lie there thinking, "Well. At least I'm not dead.'

You should go into breeding birds. The birds that you breed will be special and unique and caring for the birds will make you feel fulfilled. But you should breed parrotlets instead of lovebirds since they are less aggressive and easier to breed. I'm guessing that the smaller bird at the end of the dream was a parrotlet.

I used to have a lovebird named Sunny too.

I would have said something similar except for the fact that the dream takes place where she said goodbye to someone she cared about - on his porch.

Or that could be completely irrelevant.

It was really bizzarre. I recall feeling very sad for most of the dream knowing I couldn't get them all. But if could have been the reminents of the feelings of being in that location. I don't know. I hate when I have a dream where I am unsure where they come from or how to decipher. Anyway thanks...

Yeah, I'm just making stuff up. I don't actually believe in dream interpretation because I can trace a whole bunch of stuff that happens in my dreams to my waking life. And it's mostly meaningless stuff that influences my dreams. Really, dreams are just random regurgitations of thoughts that we try to interpret as stories. We have so many, that some actually do come to have meaning, but only because of what we make out of them. I've actually started recording the waking experiences that go into making my dreams as spoilers at the end of my DJ posts, so check it out if you're curious.

And sorry if I spoiled it for you. Really, being a skeptic is no fun . . .

I've had more than several. But it's all in interpretation.

I really don't believe that dreams have any meaning either, much like poetry. It's just kind of stuff that fits together and its fun to try and interpret while being entirely pointless.

I figured this was the aim of the thread, hence "any thoughts?" and I really didn't feel like getting into a bird discussion.

I think the only true interpretation of a poem is "Oh. He wrote a poem. He must love/want to impress somebody" or "he hates life." Not "this line symbolizes this and the fact that alliteration is used signifies blah blah blah."

Same with dreams - you can infer what kind of day a person had, if they're under a lot of stress, if they're sick, etc - by kind of dream they had. Interpreting dreams is fun. But its just that. Fun. And it can be comforting at times too to believe for a second that there is some meaning to the random bullcrap of mind salad that we sift through each night.
