Dreaming about people you know, but don't know in real life

Sometimes I dream of people, namely girls, that I know in my dream, I like and love them because they are so friendly and funny, but I don't know them in real life !!!
Is it so that these astral dreambabes are known to me in the dreamworld and after death I will meet them again in the spiritual or astral worlds ?

Here is an example, the dream I woke up with one hour ago at 01.30am :

"I was in Weris with a group youngsters, we were having an interactive guided tour which was given by someone.
We were at the stoneformation "Starchild" and I walked down because I was finished with my guided tour there.
I came across a black tombstone, which was round on the top and I noticed that the stone was sticking in the ground, but not very firm, so I pushed the stone towards me. The guide called down that the stone was part of the formation "Starchild".
The stone became alive and grew towards a height of 2 meters, somewhat 6 feet or so, the stone reacted on my push by hitting forwards, bending forwards and bending backwards, hitting another black tombstone which was standing in the ground behind it, a few pieces of the little tombstone behind it were blown of by the big tombstone.
After a while the stone stopped its movements and became quiet and still.
Then the rest of the group came down from the hill and they were telling each other what they had seen with their inner eyes there at the "Starchild" formation. They were very enthusiastic and they were all young girls, like 18-20 and I KNEW THEM ALL.
One girl suddenly said that she saw things and the guide said that we had to wait until that was over and he pointed at and guided us to a few red couches who were standing in the forest.
I sat next to a girl I knew in real life, I thought, she looked a bit like the girl I know in real life. I told her very enthusiastic about that I always write down my realizations and showed her my notebook.
She nodded and said she believed me.
So I showed her my notes from the previous time which were more clear and it were more realizations, she nodded again, smiling and she made me happy with this.
Suddenly the girls who were still standing, 4 of them, began to act funny and one of them begins to get realizations at that moment.
They were asking me what to do and I said :

      "Observe, observe it !"

After they heard this they began to talk like a bunch of little school girls and don't listen to me anymore, but are standing next to each other, hand in hand.
I look to my left to that girl I thought I knew and we were looking at each other a long time, smiling and friendly"

End of dream, note that Weris is an ancient village were there are many dolmens and megalithes with spiritual value, the stones the pre-Celtic people there erected are having spiritual energies, just beautiful.

Well, good suggestion, but that doesn't explain why I knew them, like they were friends of mine in the dream.

No, I really think that I must know these girls in another dimension, another plane of existance and that they are friends of me over there, otherwise I can't make any other logical explanation out of it.

One way to look at it is that it is quite comforting, I mean, if I die, then I know that there are spirits of people I know on the other side, so although I am going to the Ultimate Unknown, there are friends waiting for me.....yeah, reassuring.

Im am on Facebook as well, nice there, ain't it ?

This never happens to me! o_o I always dream of people I either know, or have seen in movies. That'd be a strange experience to be speaking with someone I don't know in real life, but I think I know in the dream.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Happens to me all the time. Personally, I think it is no different than all of the other ill-logic that we follow blindly, in dreams.

There could be any number of variables that cause us to feel like we know someone in dreams; we could have seen that person walking down the street, and been so subconsciously interested in them that they appear in a dream, as someone that we've known for a long time; they could be someone we've seen in a movie/show, who's character has taken a role in the dream, and we just don't realize it as such; it could be just some person our mind has constructed out of various facets of other people we know, and we just haven't come to the realization that that person doesn't actually exist.

With the logic center of the brain being 'shut down', during non-lucid dreaming, the fact that we feel we know these people is no surprise. It's no different from when I have a dream that I'm a seasoned spaceship pilot, and know how to pilot my ship, or dream that I'm in the military, even though I've never enlisted in the military in waking life. In my opinion, it's the same concept, just with people. They just seem familiar because that is a part of the scenario.

      Smile

      Hey man,

that is a good answer, many times I did wonderful things in my dreams which in waking life I am not able to do, but that doens't satisfy my question, which I will take a little further now.

If we are not the body (I have an arm and who is the one who says that the arm in mine ?), and if we are not the mind (these are my thoughts and my emotions for example, so who am I, who possesses all of this ?), in that way the mind takes us to journeys outside the physical realms of existance (inside) to a place where it creates everything it want to transmit to us, right ?

I mean, an uninterpreteted dream is like an unopened letter fom God, many times the dream comes with a (hidden) message (for me).

So the mind consists of different entities which are capable of creating for us the dream (if we are not the mind, who is ?).

To take it a step further, we are soul, eternally blissful and not to be destroyed by any weapon whatsoever, and the soul is full of knowledge, only now covered by mind and body (matter).
The soul is desiring in nature, have you ever been knowing what you want to think, and when you think what you know, you already knew what you wanted to think ?
And then you think : "Damn, what a waist of energy, I already knew it!"
It happens in meditation, it's the soul who is desiring to think and it uses the mind to think, like we use a computer to expres ourselves.

Anyway, I am convinced that the mind creates the dream, somewhere else and there everything is possible, so even the girls in the dream I knew, but not in real life.

      Yes ?

By the way, you're a hell of a guitar player, man !!!

I didn't fully read all the posts, but this happens to me a lot. All the time, I meet relatives (aunts, nieces, nephews) I don't have in real life, have a girlfriend I don't even know, etc. Sometimes, I don't even meet them. They're just there, and I accept it. Sometimes I even come up with a reason why they're there.

Although, I was a cowboy in my dream this morning, I was a cowboy, a sheriff in a past life....

I believe that's because you are looking for a certain type of answer and - as of now - I just don't believe that dreams exist anywhere but outside the mind. I'm definitely open to it, but I have seen far too much evidence that contradicts the idea, to be convinced.

Well that all depends on how you see dreams. Some people feel that they all have an intrinsic meaning. Others see them as the 'visual' manifestation of thought processes. I think this all boils down to subjectivity. Personally, I don't believe all carry some inherent message, any more than I believe any random occurrence in waking life can carry with it a message. It's all about interpretation.

That, too, is up for interpretation. The other explanation would be that, what it is we are trying to think of, is not in our conscious mind, but in our subconscious. Therefore, it takes some digging, and accessing the right channels, to think of what it is we already know.

      Yes ?
Again, that's a matter of personal perspective. Sure, it's possible, but I don't think it's likely.
