How can I decide on what to do during lucid dreams?

Well I had my first lucid dream last night, I fell asleep watching Walking Life so lucid dreams were probably on my mind. Anyway, during the dream for some reason, while looking at this snail statue thing I had I thought "Wait a minute . . . I'm dreaming!" and tried to think of things to do, but nothing came to mind. I span around once and I ended up in a completely different room to the one I was in, I tried again but it didn't work, I couldnt spin very fast for some reason. I also tried rubbing my hands together for some reason. Then I was thinking of things I could do I thought "Kiss someone, but I don't want to get too exited and wake up." then my vision turned into a cartoon, I was no longer there but I saw a cartoon of these childrens drawings kissing eachother with blue lines coming out of them, marking their movement. I don't remember anything after that, I think I lost my lucidity.

Anyway, when I'm awake I can always think of things to do, flying, breathing underwater, etc. How can I decide on what to do during a dream?

Also? How can I make my dreams more vivid? I couldn't really feel much during this dream.

I didn't remember any dreams at all till recently, before it was 3 for every 2 years or so and now it's atleast 2 a week.

      Congrats on your first lucid!

Really, the best way to remember things to do is to have a definite idea in your mind before you fall asleep as to what you want to do. Just pick one thing and decide to do it in your next lucid dream. The more you think about it while you are awake, the more likely you will remember it while dreaming.

As far as increasing vividness, the best thing to do is to stop and pay attention to the things around you. I find that concentrating on all of your senses makes things more realistic. Rubbing your hands together is good for staying in the dream, but also look closely at something nearby and touch it and concentrate on how it feels. Smell the air. See what sounds there are. Say something out loud. Even try tasting something. All of these will make a dream more vivid before you move on to other things. For me the sense of touch is most important.

      Welcome and good luck!

      Thanks
I'm not entirely sure if it was my first actually, I don't know if this counts but 2 days prior to this I woke up but was still dreaming, while my eyes where open. I had two layers of vision, my waking vision and my dream vision, and in my dream I was standing up but in the same position i was lying down in, in real life. In my dream I saw something (cant remember what it was.) and reached out for it, so I had real body, with a dream arm sticking out of it. The dream part wasn't very vivid so it wasnt that amazing. I don't know if it counts because I was awake aswell as dreaming, but i was aware.

Set some goals that you can do. As you can see in my sig, have some goals I would like to accomplish when I have a lucid dream. The forum also has something called lucid task of the month & lucid task of the year.

They usually have some pretty good tasks there that you could do.

Then it would be just like any other lucid dream goal you want to accomplish but then you only do it when you want to. Lucid task of the month is more of a challenge because there is a time limit and you can't just say, "Oh I'll get to it when I want to."

      Hi.

I have only had a couple of lucids where I could control stuff but you really need to dedicate yourself to taking it easy and slowly and focusing on one goal at a time first. I've got some goals that I desire to finish above all else. I ain't too interested in the boring flying and that stuff. I'd much rather spend the time viewing my dream world in detail. Examining every little detail. Talking to DCs to find out how they behave. You see I'm dedicated to this. You should find something that you really want to do and stick with that.

Sure, I agree Task of the Month can be more challenging.

The idea behind the Personal Task Club is just to be able to focus more on one task that you find particularly interesting. It's different from just doing personal goals on your own because there are others to support you and inspire you. Also, there is the chance to show off a little which is always good motivation. It is also to try to keep you focused on one task at a time.

But, to each their own. You should choose whatever you think will help you the most. I still try to do the Task of the Month every month.

Thanks but I think I'll wait until I have another one or two lucid dreams before I join anything like that I'm having a lot of fun dreaming so far, for so many years I couldn't remember a thing after I woke up but now it's a dream a night, last night I had 3 dreams that I remember! One, I was in a forest and there was a zombie, and when we left the forest I started growing weed in somebody elses house, very odd because I'm not the kind of person that would do that. Two, I was hanging on the front of a train and me and my family ended up in this persons house, and I was talking to the owners daughter, I said something like "How does the weather fare you?" and they said "Sorry, I don't speak nerd." and ran away. Third, I was running away from a talking dog with a dog-food bone in my hand, then I ran into a school and sat down on one of the desks because they had anti-dog barriars around them, but the dog managed to get through, but for some reason he couldn't eat me (he wanted to.)
Sorry for writing these down if they seem a bit off topic, I just want to remember them

Also, is it odd that I can usually remember what time I had the dreams at? Like, I can tell if they happened around 3 am, or just before I woke up.
