They might not show up at the first attempt... So just keep trying |
|
Ok so I did a dild this morning and I thought it would be a good idea to acomplish my dream goals so I ran to this open area to try and summon my dream guide. So I said out loud I want to meet my dream guide and then I turned around and saw something unexpected it was just a bunch of wooden boxes and mint candy o.0... I tryed again and the same thing happened. Is this because I dont have one ? Cause I do actually believe in dream guides. But I never actually met or seen mine any advice ? |

You may have a lazy dream guide! |

The reason you couldn't find a dream guide shouldn't be because you don't have one. I think you just need to keep trying or wait for your dream guide to come to you. I have 4 dream guides, but I never found them by looking for them. I had to wait for them to come to me. |

Some people believe dream guides have really been there your whole life. Personally I believe that they will be created subconsciously at the time when they're needed. They can also be created consciously though. So even if you don't really have a dream guide now, you can still create one, search for one, or wait until the time is right. |

Most people just ask any random DC they meet if they're their DG and accept the answer "Yes" as proof they've met their DG. If the DG is supposed to be a manifestation of ones subconscious then I'm sure you'll meet it in a different way than just asking a simple DC, he/she/it will come to you when you're in need. |

I've spent a bunch of LD's looking for a dream guide. Lots of my DC's will say "yes" if I ask them. Then as I start to question them, it's pretty obvious that they are not my dream guide (most of my DCs are really dumb). I went on a journey once where I asked multiple DC's to help me find my guide. They kept giving me clues on where to find him/her. Then as I investigated, it would be a dead end. It was a really fun dream though. |

Spoiler for Dream Goals:
I think a Dream Guide won't always identify themselves as such, though I never asked mine directly. For me I just knew based on the feelings and perceptions in the dream and the content of our discussion. |

Use the tag clouds when making your dream journal entries. It became pretty obvious rather quickly who my dream guide is. If my Mom isn't in my dreams, then there's frequently a strong female character from my past (ex-gf, godmother, etc.) |
|
In regards to Dreamer's opening post, I too ask myself if I don't have a dream guide. I've never once encountered a dream character who's acted as what most people would describe a dream guide doing. Perhaps, Melanieb has a point in that we "need" one in order to encounter one? However, if a city under attack by a tower-sized cyborg goldfish-spider isn't enough reason for a guide to appear, what is? |
