Question How Can I Get Back into Lucid Dreaming?

I have been into lucid dreaming for several years now, with fairly limited success. I do believe that I can do a lot better at it as I keep trying.
Unfortunately, high school and having to wake up especially early to an alarm without being able to write in a dream journal messed that up for me, but now that it's summer again Im ready to get back into lucid dreaming.
This morning I had a short lucid dream, the first one in several months. I have mostly been using the same DILD technique with reality checks since I started LDing, and I get very infrequent lucid dreams.

How can I get back into lucid dreaming this summer and start improving? I am willing to use at least some of my massive amounts of free time to commit to lucid dreaming, and I have motivation, I just don't know how to go about trying new techniques. For example, how long do you have to try a technique to see if it is effective for you or not? What techniques work most often and produce the best results? Should I even be focusing so much on techniques?

As you can see, I'm a bit overwhelmed with all this information. Where can I start to keep the momentum going from last night and get into lucid dreaming again?
      Current Goals:
      -Break LD Dry Spell[*]
-Remember one object from a dream in complete detail []
      -Completely stabilize a LD []
      -First WILD []

Don't want to promote my own thread too much, but you could check it out: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...s-welcome.html

If I were you I'd buy a couple of books on lucid dreaming and watch a few inspirational films. That'll get the motivation up. Then get yourself a good kit like in the thread so that you are ready to go. If nothing else I'd buy the two books I mention in that thread and spend a lot of time here on dreamviews to share your experiences and learn from others.

The time depends on the amount of mental effort you put into it, so it varies a great deal. Since you are already a lucid dreamer, it shouldn't be that difficult or take very long to get better, unless of course you tell yourself that it will. If you focus on it consistently it should be a matter of a few days to a few weeks.

If you have the time, I would focus on the WILD. Yes, it can be difficult for some people, but you won't know this to be true for you unless you try. It may take an initial time investment, but once you can do this it never leaves you, and as a bonus you can WILD in the early morning easily in a repeated fashion if you don't move (I believe they call that a DEILD here?). DILD is great but I prefer the clarity and control that I get with WILD. I am sure others here may vehemently disagree because their experience is different. My basic point: I would try them all, starting with the WILD while you have time for it. If you find it infinitely frustrating then give it a rest and try something else for a while. Use your intuition.

Check out this for some nice tutorials: Induction Methods and Techniques
I'd say knowing techniques is nice, but at the same time following guides exactly step by step is not the best way into lucid dreaming, the best way you have to find by yourself using the information from guides and experimenting since there are so many things that vary from person to person. Which techniques work the best also varies from person to person, so it's something you have to find out as well. As for how long trying for, i'd suggest two months or so at least, but i also suggest stick to techniques and don't change them much, consistency in lucid dreaming is pretty important.

Go back to the basics, "Lucid Dreaming is a 3 legged stool". All day awareness, dream recall, and meditation - Thats what I have been doing and I have been getting more and more successful!
