      DV Wolf Pack

Welcome, all you wolves of DreamViews.

At Sensei's suggestion, I am starting this thread in an effort to band together a Pack, a family of fellow wolves to have each other's back whenever the need may arise within our lucid dreams. If you enjoy the untamed freedom and wild power that comes with abandoning your human form to the wolf within, then please join us-- for nothing can compare to the camaraderie of a wolf pack on the hunt. Anyone with the dream power of shapeshifting into a wolf is welcome here.

As we grow in number, I hope that this thread can serve as a place to get to know each other, to post our wolf-related dreams, and to plan lucid tasks involving our Pack. In waking life, we can offer encouragement, challenge one another for specific lucid adventures, and keep each other motivated. In dreams, the Pack is merely a howl away.

To join, just reply with an introduction of yourself. Feel free to include any exciting experiences you've had as a wolf within your dreams or why you feel drawn to that particular form.

"For the strength of the Pack is the Wolf,
and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack."

I nearly forgot to make an introduction of my own. You may all call me Lola. I'm a 20 year old college student from South Carolina. Aside from the obvious, I'm also interested in philosophy, paganism, languages, reading/writing and psychology. I work in the IT department at my school, currently full-time during the summer months.

I've always had a certain fixation on wolves ever since I was a small child. When I learned about lucid dreaming, this interest made it quite natural for me to shapeshift into a wolf without really having to think much about it. Now, its kind of an unspoken rule even in some non-lucids that I have this ability.

:canislucidus: Hey! Nice thread Lola! Do you want me to merge the two posts? People have a tendency to only read the first post in a thread.

      My intro:
I have always loved wolves, and when running in LDs I have always run on all fours, it seems more natural, dunno why. After I got some dream control (and awareness), I started paying attention to it and thought about how "wolf-like" it was. As soon as I noticed this, I started transforming as soon as my hands hit the ground. I mostly run in the wild as a wolf. No worries, no goals, just running. I think it would be cool to make a pack in dreams and run in the forest together.
I am working hard on LDing and have had a lot of help in the last 2 years of LDing. I hope to become better than any LDer ever.

Not a believer in dream sharing? I am guessing that in the future there will be, but it will probably be closer to a VR console, since the only way to be "fully under and in a virtual reality" would be to go into a dream state.

Awesome thread! One look at my name and avatar probably tips you off that I'm a huge fan of the wolf form.

We spend all of our waking lives keeping the inner animal caged. It's only fitting that the wolf should walk free at night. :canislucidus:

I haven't done nearly as many lucid wolf transformations as I'd like but thanks to some coaching from NewArtemis / Iokheira, I managed a wolf transform that I really enjoyed. (Even got to hunt -- pity my prey was a skunk!)

You know the wolf pack ain't complete without the Wolfdog. For me wolves have that ineffable trait, that thing that no other animal around the world has. Wolves are fascinating creatures, the way they look at you with those profound and deadly eyes, their moves so sharp and versatile. It's a creature that holds complete mastery over its actions, an unceasing awareness of its surroundings. Their sole and calm presence just emanates dominance of any situation presented.

But to see a wolf is not enough; one must go out an run like the wolf, see like the wolf, hear like the wolf, live the life of a wolf. Only then, can one say they have experienced what is truly like to be a wolf. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten yet to that point in my practice where I can go out and experience the amazing nature of a wolf inside my dreams. But I've gotten back to practice and I'm sure in the coming months I'll be worthy enough to enter the pack.

By the way, this is such an amazing thread!

I've had dreams where I've been a wolf, but they weren't LDs. I'm new to lucid dreaming (in terms of WANTING to lucid dream more often than spontaneously every now and again) and wanting to control them and one of my goals is to turn into an animal, and a wolf is one of them. Once I turn into a wolf in an LD I'll let you know

I think it'd be awesome to become a wolf within a dream and control it, being able to feel all fours dig into the earth as I run through fields and forests, see what its like to live in a pack, howl and maybe even hunting. Hopefully I'll join the pack sooner than I expect. ^-^

Hey guys! You all can just call me Rod. I'm 19 years old and have been lucid dreaming for almost 2 years now, and am getting fairly regular lucid dreams (a couple at least per week). I have experienced far too many wolf related dreams to note them all but I have been fascinated with them since my first lucid dream and believe they have somewhat guided me, as wolves always made an appearance in my life whether in dreams or in waking life since having my first lucid dream.

During my first lucid dream I was shown from an huge book on a wall that folded like an accordion images of a human, then a hairy human and finally a werewolf. Since then I have dreamed very often at times of a white wolf; though i have seen other wolves and werewolf like creatures, this white one has always been there. Problem is almost all my wolf dreams were non-lucids. In my latest however, I was lucid and able to learn how to transform into one directly from a DC who called herself Danielle.

"she and a student that was with her got into all fours on the ground. The student looked up and started to imitate howling. As I tried to do the same I noticed her student was already a wolf on the street along with two others, all white. She guided me telling me telling me to put my legs a bit further apart. I then looked up and saw a great blue sky with beautiful white clouds and begun to howl, and as I looked down at my hands I saw that they were now paws. I was amazed, and extremely excited and as I looked up I saw that Danielle was a wolf too. She set of running but needed to re-adjust as she was walking awkwardly and seemed to have tripped. I decided to move too and had the same problem of having to re-adjust. The dream then faded and I woke just I was beginning to get the hang of it."

Sorry for the long introduction, but looking forward to dreaming with you all and having more transformations.

Thanks, Sensei. I think it'll be fine as a separate post unless you think it would look better that way. I may need you to update the member's list though when I run out of the 1440 or so allowed minutes to edit it.

I didn't think of this, but running on all fours in my dreams is how I started out as well. It's just so much faster for some reason! xD

Of course! I was hoping I would see you here, I figured you would be interested. And that is a spectacular dream. I love how you tried eating the skunk even though it tasted so bad.

Exactly, your descriptions are spot on and probably the reason that so many of us are drawn to them. Who wouldn't want to emulate that kind of power and freedom? Good luck with your practices! I know that with that kind of connection, you're bound to succeed.

I'm of the opinion that non-lucids are just as important as the lucid ones, which is why I didn't specify that the power only had to exist in a lucid dream. If you want to wait until you're able to do so in LDs that's fine, but I'd say that you qualify already.

Awesome dream, Rod! It's so cool that you had a DC guide you into your transformation. Nicely done!

Hey guys, just got pointed to this thread. Awesome idea!

You all can call me whatever you want, on here I mostly go by Art (from my old user) just cause it's what most people know me by and it's a hell of a lot easier to spell than Iokheira. I'm a 21 year old from Texas. Unfortunately I haven't managed a transformation during a lucid, but I've had tons in NLDs, usually into werewolf form.

I started liking wolves when I was younger. I had lots of nightmares and every time a white wolf would show up in my dream and save me, and some time after that I started shifting. Lots of times even when I haven't shifted and I'm convinced it's real life I find myself running on all fours, it's just a lot more comfortable. Also in my dreams when I'm feeling particular emotions my teeth will change and I usually won't think much of it until I wake up.

Anyways, I bet this will encourage me to have some lucids once my sleep schedule settles, and I will definitely be looking for you all!

Sure, I'll join. Sometimes I howl in real life just for fun. I can do it quite accurately. I first started running in dreams and for some reason I just intuitively got up to four legs and started running in a random lucid dream I had. It was pretty exhillerating. I think I like my wolf form.

eh, I'll join because why not. Maybe I can find a use for a wolf. I started lucid dreaming in September 2012, took a 5-6 month hiatus in January 2013, then came back on fire. I became interested in the wolf form back in 2007 when I was playing through LOZ: Twilight Princess.

Awesome. Well, from what I can remember. I was wolf-link from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and I could also fly in my wolf form, soon as I touched the ground I could no longer fly and turned into a human. I've other dreams where I've also been wolf-link, but I can't remember them, I just know I have.

      Hey, I'm Dezz.

I am most known for my extreme dream control, and would love to join this Pack of yours
I'm also a dream guide, so there's that.

Surprisingly, I have very little experience with shape shifting into wolves.

I would like to join your ranks, and cause havoc world-wide to those who do not abide to our bidding.

Er, I mean, to spread the lucidity and wisdom across our people.

      Yea.

      That.

I'm glad you said this, it makes me feel a lot better about joining. Since this site is geared towards lucid dreaming, I kinda assumed you only wanted people who could have an LD often And I agree with you! I love my non-lucids.

I don't really think there's much of a "use" for it, as you can do whatever you want in a lucid. But it is like what WolfDog and TheLucidDragon said, it's just nice to run and hunt and howl. There's that effortless confidence and raw power, and you're free from all responsibilities except the survival of yourself and those you care about. You get to express whatever primal urges you have. Basically it just feels good and it's fun, what more use would you need?

Ah, I was wondering where you had disappeared to. I didn't notice the name change. Glad to have you!

Encouragement for lucids is part of the reason behind this idea, which is why no prior lucid experience is needed here. So I hope we can be of assistance!

I used to howl at the moon at night back in high school, until I got scolded by my friend's parents for disturbing their dogs all the time. xD Also, I find it pretty interesting how it's so commonly simpler to run on four legs in dreams than two. I've heard a ton of other people say this throughout the forum as well.

Practicality isn't the main reason for being a wolf, but it's definitely useful in fights!

I'm also a dream guide, so there's that.

Surprisingly, I have very little experience with shape shifting into wolves.

I would like to join your ranks, and cause havoc world-wide to those who do not abide to our bidding.

Er, I mean, to spread the lucidity and wisdom across our people.

      Yea.

      That.
Well with your epic dream control, looks like you'll be getting a lot more experience being a wolf.

Hehe. We can cause a little mischief now and then. We are wolves after all.

For me, it's all about content. I'd trade all my boring LDs in which nothing happens for just one epic non-lucid any day.

This idea sounds really cool! I hope you don't mean shared dreaming, cuz I don't believe in that. Anyways I never shapeshifted before, heck I can barely induce a LD! I would love to try it though, I will in my next few LDs to see if I am any good at it.

Until then, I leave you with my interested post and a thunderous howl echoing through your hearts!

      Need for an Alpha
Now that we're starting to grow in number, I've been thinking of ways to determine who should be the Alpha in a dream-related way. I think a good and fair way to decide this would be to give the title of Alpha to the first member of the pack who is able to summon one or more pack members within a dream simply by howling. What do you all think?

The main purpose is not shared dreaming, no. But I figure it would be a cool scenario for shared dreaming for any who would like to use it as such.
      Good luck with your shapeshifting!

This sounds really cool. I had one lucid where i tried becoming a wolf and the dc's said I did, but I never got to four legged running which I am looking forward to. I have experienced other modes of LD movement but not 4 legged running. Question: is it better to try slow transformation, or quick? I was thinking of just jumping to the ground and start running but wasn't sure if that was a good way or not. Like the Twilight Series I suppose...
