      Question About Eyes While Dreaming

I'm new here so sorry if this has been asked or if I'm doing this post question wrong.

Just to give a quick idea of the situation, I stopped practicing lucid dreaming since I've been in collage. I've had only about 7 successful fully lucid dreams in past 6 months, each very awesome. Unfortunately, I stopped practicing since I've been at college, for about 2 months.

Today, I decided to take a nap and listen to Alpha binaural beats. Somewhere between 15-30 minutes into the nap, I notice people barging into my dorm, realizing its a dream. I did the rubbing of hands, spinning in circles just to get a feel for the dream.

The problem is that for some odd reason, I had to fight to keep my 'dream eyes' open. When walking through this huge and fancy place, I was getting really tired and my eyes kept closing. I tried feeling the environment around me (gather more awareness), but that didn't make me feel more awake in the dream. At one point, I gave up and imagined a nice couch and laid down/sleep. After that I don't remember anything.

So can anyone tell me if it is they felt sleepy in a dream that you are conscious in? To the point where you are fighting to keep your eyes open? I was really really tried to begin with so maybe that had something to do with it.

It happens fairly commonly, probably for a number of different reasons. If you're exhausted, that could quite likely affect your dream and make you feel sleepy in it. Sometimes it seems to happen if you become aware of your sleeping body. It's thought that if you do, you sort of open the channel to the senses that's supposed to be closed while dreaming, and you notice that your eyes are really closed, and your limbs are not moving, so you take on a sort of sleepiness and/or semi-paralysis in the dream, that can manifest as feeling super drunk. I've had many dreams where I'm falling asleep, barely able to walk, or even where I'm just laying paralyzed in a bed or on the ground hearing things happening around me but not able to move or participate. Sometimes it will pass and later in the dream I'm ok, though often even then I'll still be somewhat sleepy or have symptoms remaining.

      It happens.

What I do when my dream eyes are out, is like I start to run, fly, whatever, to feel the dream with my other senses (especially touch, the feeling of the wind on your face, etc.) as well as the sound. And focus on demanding more dream quality. It should help

Keep it up and you will be lucid dreaming again very soon!
