How Did You Discover Lucid Dreaming?

So, how did you discover what lucid dreaming is? I've had lucid dreams ever since I was a child, wondering what they were. I usually randomly realized that I was standing somewhere, in my dream, looked down at my hands, and woke up, when I was still a child.

I don't actually remember. I knew about it before my first experience. Might've been because I use to browse alien-ufos and they talked about obes and stuff and obes and lds are kinda in the same spectrum, ya they're a lot different but iirc you can obe and ld from SP and so it links.
it took me a while to get actually into it though, mainly due to laziness and lack of motivation

Yeah, for years I've been practicing and then not, being very inconsistent. I want to again because I'm starting to see the value of not being cooped up in my room all day. It's pretty nice going out with friends to a cafe to play chess (even though I'm terrible at it) or something for fun.

I don't quite know why that picture angers me, but it does.
      I just don't know.

Maybe it's because they make it seem really easy?
Or perhaps because of the ungodly amount of grammar mistakes?

Googled ways to improve concentration (for GCSEs), found binaural beats, isochronic tones and associated stuff. One of the tones I found mentioned it could help with lucid dreaming. Seemed fascinating, so I researched that and here I am.

Probably just because it's vague on how to do it, not that it's a guide or anything, but maybe that's why it seemed to make it look easy.

It's also inaccurate (it is fine to respond to those 'impulses,' and the phase you enter before dreaming usually is not sleep paralysis and rather is simply an experience of hypnagogic hallucinations).

OT: I as well was having lucid dreams as a child (I don't like saying that given the negative connotations, but it's the truth). It started off like it did for most other people who learned to lucid dream then, I had recurring nightmares and learned to recognize them. I would blink rapidly in attempt to wake myself up (very ineffective strategy), and I eventually realized years later I could also control the dream via conscious expectation. I figured out how to DEILD on my own as well.

I finally first actually heard the term and found out there was a name for it when in 2009, I found a thread online in some forum's off-topic section that was about lucid dreaming. Ended up researching and learned all the new terminology as well as the rest of the possible methods.

My first lucid dream just happened naturally I was having a normal dream I'm not gonna say what it was as I'm probably not allowed to then I realised I was dreaming and for some reason I was in my cousins teachers class and I walked out and went into the school bathroom and I saw in a movie if you count your fingers in a dream they not always the right amount so I counted them and had seven and I was like what the hell so I counted my second hand and it also had seven fingers then my friend came out of no where and said what are you doing and I said I think we are dreaming and he was denying it so then I pinched myself and it didn't hurt and he did it to and he said but what if we not dreaming and we do something stupid I said true and I woke up then I grabbed my phone and Googled my dream and found this website now I'm very clued up but have been trying for 3 weeks with no luck but they are really amazing
