      Dream Group Ideas

      Hey guys,

I currently run a lucid dreaming group, and was wondering if any of you had any ideas for activities or discussion topics other than:

      • lucid dreaming is great!
      • WILD/DILD/etc.
      • introduce yourselves!

Trying to find some interesting things for us to work on. I've considered adding a monthly task (beginner and intermediate, for right now, as some of our members have never had a lucid dream), but other than that, I'm a bit stumped!

Let me know what you guys think.

How about these topics of discussion:

      * The fundamentals -- self-awareness, memory, and expectation/intention -- and how they improve your success in LD'ing. [what a shock that I list that one first, huh]

      * What to do once you are there, from fantasies to practical first steps.

      * Dream recall and journaling.

      * What exactly is a lucid dream, and why is it called that?

That's what I could think of right off. Also, you could play some memory games with them, maybe get them interested in MILD exercises.

      Good luck and have fun!

Thanks, Sageous. Love the idea for the memory game. I heard on a podcast that LaBerge has everyone play a week-long memory game at his retreat. I should be able to come up with a smaller version.

Definitely mention dream signs! Also, tell them about combining dream signs with RC for maximum benefit. All Day Awareness is really good and helps with LD a lot. It also helps with overall mental well-being. In fact you can talk about how LD can benefit your well-being, both mentally and physically. Charlie Morley talks a lot about this and you can find good documentaries about him on YouTube.
*Portals or dream travel or teleportation
*Using your senses to explore the dream
      *Talking to dream characters
*Finding a dream guide (even if you don't think it's really a spiritual guide from another time/space, dream guides are real if you believe and make them real and they can help you!)
      *Personal dream goals
*Shared dreaming (again, even if you don't believe it, it still makes an interesting discussion)

For discussion I've been pondering if there's other alternate factors for how quickly or long it takes a person to fall asleep and if there is other types of reasons it fluctuates. If there is, what are the links to this and can it be consistent? How fast can a person fall asleep before they know it? That would be a good group experiment to test how other progress in falling sleep faster. I like this concept because having the intention can possibly work against you in this situation. It appears naturally difficult to know your goal is to fall asleep as soon as possible. But these type of experiences can truly be rewarding.

ViIe, cool idea. I was going to have people practice WILD at home, and begin keeping notes about personal signs indicating an approaching WILD. I really think your idea could fit in with this. I appreciate it!
