How many times do you people manage to LD?

I managed to LD many years ago but now it seems kinda hard to trigger it. I am trying to make my loved one to appear in my dream right now. Oh, sexy cat! So, like the title implies, how many times do you guys here manage to trigger LD? How much do you guys enjoy it?

Well, I really enjoy them and it's rare for me to get one obviously, so it's still a pretty new experience and I haven't managed to experience an amazing feat yet Making progress though!

      Create a DC: [X]

I'm trigger happy. I enjoy it!

Still working on my aim, though.

My last LD was in October, although I did have a 3 month break. I find it difficult I have to say.

I've averaged about 1 a week since I had my first, whether that's just down to pure luck or not I don't know, but I'm quite happy with that.

Depends on wether or not I feel like doing a WBTB + WILD or taking a nap and WILDing. I have a high success rate on my WILDs, but I'm bad at chaining lucids, so I only get one or two dreams out of every attempt. I usually find enough time for 5-6 WILDs a week but it varies.

Actually, you guys' posts worried me a little bit. Yeah, i know those great techniques that were provided in this website help a lot of people achieve a LD but do you think achieving a LD also based on luck? I am not really good with handling something involving luck.
Or do you guys think that even without luck, everyone can achieve
lucidity as many as they desire? Sorry if this question sounds rude and insecure.

Luck may play a small part, but not much.

You could always take supplements, I hear galantamine + choline is very good for giving people LD's

Not many for me right now. Lately, I have LD'd slightly less than once a week.

In my honest opinion: I think in this case you are wrong.

I went ahead and looked about luck.
(Straight out of the wiki): "a purposeless, unpredictable and uncontrollable force that shapes events favorably or unfavorably for an individual, group or cause"

So luck is something which is out of your control, I would say if your rich, if your handsome - if your generally well off, that could be described as luck (with exceptions)

Now your mind, from which your LDs basically come from: That is totally up to you.

Nobody can take away your abilites that you achieved from your mind.
People can take your money, beat you down so you'll get ugly. That is out of your control.

But what you can achieve with your mind is basically trained abilities. No luck whatsoever.
There would be nothing of your mind that could be based on luck. How would that even work?
Not that I would have any idea right now.

So there is probably no room for luck.

(I need to say this reasoning might still be opinionated)

Hey, after reading your post, I feel much better really. I am just worried that i still dont be able to gain any lucidity yet this year. I think i'll be patient and try harder to achieve LD. Thanks.

The best approach is do the work and to the extent possible let go of expectations. Enjoy the journey and know you are doing what's necessary to move you closer to your goal, because if you worry too much about the destination that can work against you.

Or in terms of all important awareness, the journey is the Here and Now. That's where you (and your mind) should exert your energies, not worrying about "what if'.

I have been actively pursuing lucid dreams since 2009. This year, I have been able to get one or two a month. I enjoy them very much, for the most part.
      It's all in your head.

There's a struggle in here, since while what your mind does may be "up to you," but we often have no idea how to control it, and we don't know why things happen "in our minds" when they do. I always assumed my lucid dreams happened by luck, since I never "try" to achieve them when they happen. They seem unpredictable and uncontrollable. (The few times I have tried to make them happen they never happened, so now I just let them happen by themselves.) How do things of the mind happen so randomly like this?

To answer the original question, about half of the dreams I recall are lucid dreams. Sometimes more, sometimes less (right now it's most of them). It really depends on how well I'm remembering my dreams, though.

The more you have, the easier it gets. Check out the link in my signature for lots of info on LDING through podcasts form.

I'm vivid every night, haven't had an LD in a long time but to be honest I haven't been practicing or thinking about it much, I'm more interested in the stories vivid dreams tell rather than actually controlling my dreams for the fun of it.

      1. I seem to currently fluctuate between 3 to 7 times a week. WBTB is a big factor for many consistent LD'ers.

      2. I love it!! It often gives me joy and pleasure and helps me see many things in a new light in waking life! I would suggest to make it a long-term journey of discovery.

Broke the dry spell this night, had a DEILD after the DILD collapsed . I found that the DEILD really increased my awareness and the quality of the dream.

Read through the tutorials here on DV, they are very informaitve and the folks put alot of work into them. Once you employ the techniques then luck will come into play to a certian extent. You might want to try isochronic tones and binaural beats. I recently started using them and went from 2-3 nights a week to 5-6 with most nights having multiple LDs. The key is to not rely on one thing only, especially luck. As for enjoyment, i dont have the words to express the level of gratification I get from LDn. The euphoria from a good LD can last for days.

Only once a couple weeks ago. It only lasted a few seconds though and I couldn't control anything..
