      motivation

Hi I've been interested in lucid dreaming for a long time. I've had some lucid dreams in the past. I'm trying to figure out why my dreams are important and trying to motivate myself. It's a great feeling to be lucid. But recently I have barely remembered any dreams and have not had much lucidity. Any suggestions for me to get back into lucid dreaming? I guess there are a couple of things I would like to do which is play an instrument like guitar and piano and also draw in a dream. Maybe I could stick with art and music to be my motivation. Just thought I would ask.

It can be a problem to try and stay motivated to LD, but it is worth it if you keep it up. Here is a thread that I made for beginners, but it talks quite a bit about motivation:

The best way to stay motivated is really to set "realistic and attainable goals", so I would recommend using that thread to choose some realistic personal dream goals.

Additionally, for myself, sometimes when I feel I need an extra boost of motivation, I stop worrying about lucidity and techniques and theories for a little while and focus on just my regular dreams. Usually within a day or two, I'll have some great non-lucid dreams that'll make me remember just how awesome dreams can be, and that'll get me going again
