Deja Vu? Visiting Past Dream Worlds.

      Hey guys,

I've been having all sorts of crazy dreams as usual, but lately I've noticed a couple of things. Last night I had a dream that I visited this mall with a friend of mine, but during the dream I felt that I'd been there before. After waking, I realized that I had been to this place in a previous dream. Now, I'm not a lucid dreamer (yet ), but there are several places I've been in dreams where I know I've had dreams before. Heck, there's this one city in particular that I have visited probably three different times. Does this sort of thing happen to you guys too? Is it just an element of becoming more aware?

Since I was thinking of it, have you lucid dreamers gone back to old dreams, maybe favorite ones in your adventures? I know I have a few that I'd certainly like to go back and check out.

      Best,
      Jelly

P.S. I also wonder about the possibility of being able to lucidly stitch dream worlds together in this same sense in order to create a persistent dream world. Considering the extremely memorable aspect of some dreams, it would seem relatively easy to create a persistent world this way.

I've had a few dreams set in the same place, but most of them are in different locations. Not even my house is a very common setting. A while ago I had a dream set in the same place as a dream from my childhood, a giant underground mall full of crisscrossing escalators. Something about the place gave off a very eerie feeling. Other than that, it doesn't happen very often.
I like the idea of a persistent dream world, think if I lucid dreamed more often I'd probably try to create my own world I'd revisit regularly and expand on. I'm tired of dreams that are all disconnected.

Well real world places I think everyone sees themselves visiting similar places over and over again in dreams - places like your childhood home, where you went to school/grew up, where you live now, where you work etc. However I've also had this happen to a lesser degree with places that I haven't (as far as I'm aware at least) visited in real life.

Often it's for good reason though, because the place is perhaps somewhere I saw in a film/game before (and just forgot about), or it was the same place I was in during my dreams the night before, or during the previous dream.

It's always interesting when it happens though, especially during lucids.
