      Newbie Questions

      1. How can I wake up without an alarm? None of the auto shutoff alarms work. If you can recommend a free one for iOS please tell me.

      2. I've kept a dream journal on my phone for a week now. Only 1 vivid dream and a few fragments.

      3. Do mantras actually work? If so, how?

      1. Easy MP3 Alarm Clock. You'll have to check it's compatable with Apple.
      2. Are you asking if you're recall will improve?
3.What you focus on becomes what you get.

1.Increase your awareness during the night until it's high enough where you notice the natural awakenings after REM periods.

2.Writing down dreams alone won't increase recall. What increases your recall is the fact that you're making dreams more important which makes you more aware during them which makes recall easier by giving you more awareness that you could potentially recall.

3.Mantras help in maintaining your intentions.

1- I agree with dolphin, waking up naturally on REM works much better than just setting an alarm... also you don't get bothered by the sound or anything.
2- This is not bad for a 1st week, one thing you can do is just lay still in bed after waking up and try to remember your dreams. Once you move and start your day normally it becomes much harder to recall them.
3- Law of attraction! If you tell yourself what you want in your life you will eventually get it. They become much more effective if you try to feel how you would feel if whatever you're asking for is already a reality.

      Good luck!
