Unhappy Jet lagged insomniac, help plz

Hi everybody. I'm new here and I had around 10 LDs using WBTB, in which I was able to control only one of them.

So what I do is I wake up after 6 hrs of sleep and wait for 45' then go to bed again. But there comes the problem. I can't sleep AT ALL. I even use Stop Drop and Roll sleep command from lucidology.com, it is a great website, you can go to youtube and search for lucidology 101 videos, CHECK 'EM OUT all the 13 videos.Any suggestions about my problem here? TNX.

There's not much you can do about jet lag. It's a real drag on recall and dreaming.

As for insomnia, I suffered (and still do occasionally) it after-5-hours wakings a LOT in the beginning of LD practice. I spent a lot of time researching effective ways for me to relax my mind and body.

For one thing, adjust your time spent awake. Experiment with much shorter times up, and even no time up, so-called "micro-WBTB" where you just re-set your intentions and return to sleep.

It takes practice and dedication, but I believe anyone can learn to quiet their mind and relax their body sufficiently enough to return to sleep in a short amount of time. For me, if I can hold my mind absolutely still and focus on the feeling of "letting go," I'll fall asleep pretty quickly. It takes willpower to ignore the thought-chains that beckon to you, tantalizing you to immerse yourself in them and thus stay awake.

Awwww shiiiiiiiit, you did it now. Plugging another website, you should hurry up and edit it out before you get in trouble mate.

FryingMan's advice is fannnntastic! You can tell he really has a lot of experience with your problem.

Micro-WBTB's were my solution to that problem when I had it. Also, exercising more during the day helped a lot so that I was super tired at night and didn't need to worry about being too restless to fall back asleep if I woke up for too long. That's really cool that you've had so much success with WBTB though, keep it up!

Umm.. yeah, but these micro WBTB don't make me lucid. They just make me see dreams, mostly scary, which are cool, you wake up with a pumped adrenalin. But never saw LDs with it. Thanks by the way.
