Do you take off your glasses a lot in real life? Could be your subconscious knowledge that you have difficulty seeing without your glasses is affecting your perception in dream. Perhaps you just need to find a different reality check. |

Yesterday, had a dream, and I finally did a reality check in the dream, where i took my glasses off and checked if my vision was blurry or clear without my glasses. I remember that it was ever so slightly blurry, due to which I failed to achieve lucidity. l find this weird because vision should be clear even without glasses in a dream. Any possible explanations or advice? Thanks in advance. |

Dream Goals:

It depends. There are no hard rules with dreams. There's no reason taking off glasses in a dream can't affect vision exactly as in waking life, but there's no guarantee it will, either. Pretty much any RC can give a false result in a dream at least sometimes, so it's a good idea to have one or more other RCs to try in case one doesn't work. |

I would agree with the first two people, I think this particular reality test is too susceptible to projections of what you may unconsciously assume will happen. I think on some level you always expect your vision to be blurry without glasses even if your trying to be objective about the whole thing. I have found that holding ones nose and trying to breath is a reliable method. And like Travis E. said I would suggest building a procedure of several distinct dream tests to be done one after the other in quick succession. |
