dream figures fading away after being awoken

what happened this morning was kind of hard to explain and i wonder if this was a part of false awakening or something similar in terms im not familiar with?
basically, i woke up from a dream but there were still two dream figures (people) facing me which slowly faded away. the cue here was that i was 99.5% sure i was fully awake when that happened ( i literally stood up right after what that was all about )

Were you up and moving and they were still there? Sometimes, we "wake up," but REM atonia hasn't worn off yet, or REM itself is still winding down. This will account for the hallucinations in the room.
