      Dream Recall 30 Day Challenge

Hey Guys! A lot of people have been doing 21 or 30 day challenges so I decided to start my own. I have not really had a LD since I was 6 so not long ago I

decided to try it. I have tried really hard to have a LD but have failed so I thought maybe instead of putting a ton on myself and trying to LD right away. Maybe

I need to take it slow and take one step at a time. So my first step is to have better DR. I've always been able to recall my dreams pretty good but I really

want to work on them being more detailed and clear. I would really like it if you would join my challenge and we can both help each other through our journey

of LD. I will still be doing WBTB and DS but I will really be focusing on my DR. I've heard that if you write all your memories of the day down on a journal that

your brain will be able to store more dream memories so I am going to be trying it. I might be adding more but here is what I have already

      -Write in journal every night
      -Write in DJ every morning
-Spend 10 minutes in bed every morning to let mind wander and hopefully it will wander to what I was dreaming

Pls write in comments below of things that have helped you with your DR

Things that have helped me with dream recall:
      - Going to bed early and getting a full night sleep and having a clear mind in the morning. Before going to sleep, affirm "Tonight, I will remember all my dreams."
      - Drinking plenty of water before going to bed
      - Having a paper and pen by my bedside to jot down dreams every time I wake up and recall them
      - Not move upon awakening; dreams are best recalled by lying still and letting the dream images surface.
      - Writing down in dream journal every day
I once tried DreamLeaf (friend gave me a tablet), and that night I had amazingly vivid recall. But I didn't take any more supplements like that because I don't know if it's safe to do so, and I'd rather not.
But those are things that have helped my recall.

Waking up to an alarm will destroy / greatly harm your dream recal. If you're ripped out of your rem state mid way through, you're going to have a bad time remembering.

I usually wake up throughout the night but move before I realized I was awake (failed wbtb), then I think of everything I dreamed about. It's easy since I was just dreaming and at the end of my REM cycle. Once I'm done remembering, I can try a wild.

A great way to wake up without an alarm is to drink lots of water before going to sleep, so then you should wake up sometime in the night to go to the loo.

Im lucky enough to be able to remember every time I wake up throughout the night. This has helped me with remembering my dreams greatly. Everyone wakes up several times throughout the night, it's a matter of remembering.

      Night 1

I was too tired to write my day down in a journal. I drank a really good amount of water before I went to bed at 11:00pm. My dreams were very long and vivid. I wrote them in my dream journal if you would like to see them <3 I saw my DS! It was an animal. I didnt think anything of it. But this is only my 3rd night of really trying to LD so im going to be trying way harder with my DR. My alarm was supposed to wake me up at 3:00 but for some weird reason my alarm did go off. I woke up at 3:45 because I had to go to the bathroom. While I was trying to go back to sleep I started to drift off to sleep and suddenly I see this white blinding light! My heart started beating kinda fast but then everything went dark :/ I couldnt go back to sleep so I just wrote in my DJ and I went with my family at 5 to go black friday shopping

Questions Pls help me by answering these questions I have
-What was that white blinding light?
      -Are my DJ's looking better?
-Why did'nt I recognize my DS
-Since I saw that white blinding light does that mean I just woke up before REM???? Is that a good time to wake up for now on?

The "blinding light" was a sort of "noise" that comes with falling asleep. The noise can be visual, physical or sound. It is normal when falling asleep to experience stuff that's similar. As for not remembering your DS, it's all based on how trained you are to recognize stuff like that. I've been told in dreams that I was in a dream world and still didn't get lucid (sad time for me)

      Night 2

Ok so last night I went to sleep on 11:00 and I woke up at 4:00 but was too tired to do WBTB but when I woke up (at 4) I remembered this long vivid dream but I was too lazy to write it down. I then woke up at 8 and I couldn't remember anything! So I sat in my bed for like 30 minutes trying to remember. I was able to remember bits and pieces if you want to take a look at my DJ. But yeah I think that 4 was a good time to wake up because I remembered my dream. I'm really upset that I forgot my dream though

-Was 4 a good time to wake up?
-Why did I forget my dream?

You probably didn't write it down. It's happened to me more often than I can count 'cause of laziness.

The best time to wake up and attempt a WBTB is subjective, I think. If 4 o'clock seems to be best for you, you should continue waking up at that time.

As for why you forgot your dream... well, it was likely because you didn't write it down when you fully remembered it. :( Dreams are quick to fade away from our memory, so it's best to write it down as soon as you have the chance even if you're super tired. You'll thank yourself later.

I don't usually see white light unless I'm in a white void from losing stability, but when I wake I often see flashing light patterns in my eyes. It is often then that I think I am falling asleep, but realize I am actually falling awake. This is a good time to try to fall back into a dream (DEILD), but if I fail in a few seconds I begin to try for recall instead and wake up to usually journal.

Your lucid could come in a few days or a few months, so you should be prepared for it. Make sure you have a plan, like step one some kind of stabilization, step two choose a goal or set of goals, step three try to achieve them, step four explore.

If you don't have any plan you might wake up immediately, if you have no goals you will not likely remain lucid long.

I recommend you set a list of possible goals for each type of dreamscape, so reflect on your last many dreamscapes and set them in groups like forest, water, skyscraper etc, then choose a set of goals for each like 3 - 5 of them. Then when you become lucid you'll be able to set an achievable goal.

you could also consider the new 12 days of Christmas dream contest goals (from spellbee2's new contest)

Sure LUCID DREAMS are all fun and games until someone loses a third eye.

      Night 3

Didn't go to bed till 12 last night because I was watching a movie with my family, and because I have a slight case of insomnia I couldn't wake up at 5 for my WBTB so I did 4 instead. I also didn't have a glass of water before bed because i wasn't feeling well and water always seems like it makes it worse. When I woke up at 4 I remembered a vivid dream. I didn't want to forget it again so I got up and sat on the sofa and wrote it down. After writing my dream down I just sat on my sofa for a minute or two just observing the sounds, smells, and different textures. I was trying to practice on my awareness. I did a couple of RC's and then I crawled into bed about 15 minutes later (Because of my insomnia I cant stay awake for more then like 30 minutes or it will be hard for me to go back to sleep) When I get in bed i tell myself I am going to lucid dream and then I just let my mind wander so I can go to sleep. I'm not really sure what im supposed to do when I get back in bed but I assume that you just let ur mind wander so u can go to sleep.

      - I remembered another long vivid dream after waking up for a WBTB is that good?
      - Do you think I am getting closer to LDing?
      - How do my reality checks seem to be going (and the awareness thing)?
      - When going back to bed after waking up for a WBTB what are you supposed to do... R u just supposed to think about LDing or are you allowed to let your mind wander?
