Haha RE #4. I was 'told' that too!
I asked for a dream guide and got myself
although an old, wrinkly, naked and creepy version
I changed him for a dragon
But now I just know my guide, if needed, is within.
Bit too personal to go into detail, but I suffer from an anxiety disorder.
I'm slooooowly making progress with this.
Lucid dreaming does help - I can fight the monster, defeat it utterly, befriend it, hug it, eat it or whatever then ask for a present to take out of the dream and help with interpretation, or simply ask for an explanation as to what the moinster is doing in my dream...

Main success is in an emotional sense - its not like I've had any clear answers - but its much easier to stay with the fear these days, and its diminishing.
Actually its anxiety I think which drove my 'natural' lucidity. Flying away from the monsters... And its what helped train me to increase lucidity, to stay in the dream, or go back in, because I was determined NOT to run away.
