Does Anybody Hear Your Own Thoughts In Your Dreams?

A while back I had a dream. This dream was about me lying in bed and thinking to myself about a certain mythoogical creature. It seemed like as if I was actively retorting and freely thinking about this one subject. No, I did not realize I was dreaming, and that sort of heightened "alertness" only lasted for the amount of time I was on my bed. Shortly thereafter I quickly lost this state.

Has anyone out there experienced this before? Is this a sign I'm getting closer to LDing? Or is this simply a normal thing that can happen in a regular old dream?

i see differences in the awareness of dreams. sometimes, with very low awareness, the dream feels more like a movie and i just recall that i "watched" the movie, on the other hand, sometimes, when i have a high awareness dream, i feel like actually beeing there and "awake". i do stuff that (based on the informations i have and the frame of the dream) makes sense, i consider things and evaluate things, sometimes when i walk somewhere i start to think about something. these are the dreams that are very close to lucidity.
when i have the intention to lucid dream and i set my intention strongly i get lucid at some point in these kind of dreams. but sometimes i dont set intention at all or not strong enough. then sometimes i have those dreams where i notice something is not working or is off but i dont see the option "this is all a dream" because i didnt intended to.

so yea the more you think and reflect in your dreams the more aware you are and then its only a mindset thing to lucidity

Huh. Now that I think about it I really did feel present in the dream than usual. Maybe I just need to perform more reality checks lol

in my humble opinion you dont necessarily need to perform more RC. I would recommend to increase your nighttimework, means:
set stronger intention to have a lucid dream and to notice things that are off/different than in waking. EVERYTIME you wake up inbetween dreams evaluate the dream, how present have you been, what was off and then again set intention to notice the next time when something like that is off and fall asleep holding this intention. you will notice that from dream to dream the awareness rises until at some point in one dream you just "know" ah this is a dream.
