      Is this my dream guide?

Hello everyone! I'm so excited because not too long ago i woke up from a lucid dream! i found that my hands had 6 fingers, made the dream vivid as real life, walked around, tested some stuff, ect... But i remembered while in the dream "I need to summon my dream guide." So i went outside stood in the grass and said "SUMMON MY SPIRIT GUIDE!!" very loudly and..... IT WORKED! She appeared in a brilliant white right in front of my eyes, it was so bright, almost blinding. I ran up and gave her a hug because i was so excited that i could finally talk to her. She comically said "No hetero" meaning that we were just friends, i instantly got the joke, but i was just so happy that she appeared....and then in irony, a few minutes later i lost lucidity the weird thing about it, is that it turned into a false awakening? I somehow thought that i was awake early in the morning? I EVEN LOOKED AT MY FINGERS AGAIN this is very ironic, but i only saw 5 fingers and i thought "i'm not dreaming, it's time to go to school", and a few moments later i wake up in my ACTUAL room, i quickly checked my fingers before i wrote down in my dream journal.

Now there are some things that happened that kinda confuses me.
      1. I've summoned my spirit guide before and the same thing happened, it (this was before i knew what it was) appeared in the sky in a brilliant white, and slammed down to the ground, perfectly. As soon as i tried to get close to it, the dream faded away. Why does it glow very white? has anyone else had a spirit guide do that? I gotta admit it's pretty cool, but i would like to know why that occurs

      2. There was a person that i had a feeling was going to be my dream guide that kept appearing in my dreams, she talks to me first and i notice a lot of detail compared to the other dream characters. She has appeared in at least 10 of my dreams, and even in the dream right before i had this lucid i saw her again in that dream! Why wasn't she the spirit guide? It would of made more sense in my opinion.

and 3. Whenever i get the chance to summon her again and talk to her, should i assume that i already know what she is going to say when i ask her a question about lucid dreaming? or should i expect a detailed respected answer?

Anyways, this is my 3rd lucid dream this month! 3 in a month that is bananas!!! Thanks for reading and happy dreamings!

      *EDIT*
I now remember that when i woke up from the dream, i woke up seconds before my alarm clock went off. (Perfect timing), this alarm doesn't turn it's self off, so i had to move in order to turn it off.....
I could of turned it into a DEILD, but hey you win some you lose some

First of all, congrats on your successful LD!

Second, all those things you ask, you must first understand how subjective and personal a Dream and a Lucid Dream are. What I mean by this is, although there might be common points between all of us who experience LD's, what you live inside a dream is basically your subconscious and your personal realm of archetypes and imagery that might have completely different meanings for others. So, the fact it glows very white, first try to analise what that imagery might mean to you, how it makes you feel and what memories might it connect to.

Another thing that might help, judging from how it happens to me, your "dream guide" can assume any shape, any personality, sometimes related to the context of the dream other times it can be completely the opposite. So, all of those characters you mention can be your "dream guide", just remember to pay attention to how the experience goes, what they say and then record it if you feel the need.

Good luck with your next LD's!

generally the difference between a regular dc and a dream guide are a dc will say something off the wall while your dream guide (subconscious mind) will give you a coherent response

About the white glow - I've noticed that once something happens in a dream that really grabs your full attention - as in gets some emotional reaction out of you ("Wow - what the heck was THAT??!!"), then it often gets used again, maybe several times, in subsequent dreams. It's like the dreaming mind has a bag of tricks and as soon as something proves to be effective it goes into the bag to be used in the future. So my guess is the new dream guide character glowed simply because you were so impressed by a glowing character in the past and the dream wanted to impress you, so it used the same trick again. Especially because they are the same kind of character - didn't you say the glowing character in the former dream was also your dream guide? Something similar anyway if I remember right - spirit guide maybe. Dreams will often use similar motifs to connect up similar characters or situations.

      Double post.

Ironically - while I waited like 3 or 4 minutes for my response to post, a cricket started chirping somewhere in the house. Made me laugh.

      coincidence maybe?
and i can agree to the mind having a "bag of tricks" to use in my dreams. Most of my best lucid dreams either start in my house or start in some kind of area that I've seen in the waking life, but I've also noticed with these lucid dreams, they are quite bland as there really isn't anything different from waking life, but i really love having these dreams because i learn something from each and everyone of them.

Also with the glowing spirit guide thing, apparently some other people in the forums as well have reported seeing dream guides shine white when first appearing. To me it has a profound meaning, whenever there is a living thing that glows white, i automatically assume it is a holy pure being.

I have seen this dream guide before, as i mentioned i summoned it in a previous lucid dream, and it shined a brilliant white, but the dream ended before i could even see what it was so this dream was very cool to me because i actually engaged with it, something that i find to be extremely exhilarating for some reason.

Do you believe that spirit guides are just dream characters? or do you believe that they are actual spiritual beings that can connect to us in dreams?

Either way this might influence what i expect from my dream guide because if i believe it is just a part of my subconscious, i wouldn't really expect the guide to have beneficial information (because if i don't know things consciously would the subconscious be any different?) and if i believe that it is an actual messenger, i would expect a very intriguing answer, something that would be very important to my lucid dreaming life.

Sorry if i reply really late as well i usually try to get on this forum daily while im doing other activities as well.

If you would remove the word "just" from both of these statements then I can agree with them. As a student of Carl Jung I believe that spiritual beings, if they exist, can communicate with us only through the psyche, which is what his extensive clinical experience suggested, and what he experienced for himself as well.

"if i don't know things consciously would the subconscious be any different?"

Why would the unconscious and the conscious be identical? By definition the majority of the mind is unconscious, since you are not consciously aware of what's going on in most of it. This means that the conscious mind is a small part of the total mind, the unconscious being vastly larger. People who wave off the unconscious as something trivial have no understanding of its immense power.

It contains repressed and forgotten memories, plus a great wealth of information that just isn't available consciously. And of course it also includes the archetypes, which Jung believed were what people actually experience when they report encountering God or some other spiritual entity*. But of course clinical research and psychoanalysis can only go so far in studying the depths of the mind - beyond a certain point it's only experienced by one person. No instruments can go in there and tell us anything. So whether the visions people experience are 'real', or are only imaginary, or are something else entirely is up in the air. But when you've studied the workings of the mind enough you realize that in a sense it doesn't matter if it's 'real' or an image conjured by the unconscious - if it carries a powerful message that's transformative to a person's life, what's the difference?

      * Let me rephrase that. Actually Jung said that we can't know whether God and other spiritual beings are simply archetypes within the mind, or if the archetypes are somehow connecting us to something greater that's entirely beyond our understanding. And that's where I stand as well.

      Very interesting indeed.
What i was really trying to explain when i said that "if i don't know things consciously would the subconscious be any different?" i meant that since the subconscious is guided by the conscious mind, the best way to put information into it, if not the only way, is through the conscious mind.
I don't trust my self enough to think that my subconscious will provide me a worthy answer because i always overthink everything consciously, and my subconscious might give me an answer that doesn't help me at all based on me overthinking ideas.

And when i made that post i forgot how powerful the subconscious truly is.
I've found out that my mind can create a dream world that is based on material reality, but something that i haven't seen.
Like for example, blue snow in my backyard
I know what the color blue is sure, and i know what my backyard looks like, but i didn't have an actual picture to base this idea off of.
So it is left an imagined thought instead of something that is part of this material reality.
Well this thought transferred over to my dreams and it manifested it's self just as i imagined it.

I also didn't believe that my mind could make a dream vivider than real life...
      definitely wrong on that one

So now thinking back with the new insight I've obtained, I shouldn't really expect a trival answer from the subconscious mind anyways.
      Thanks for your reply
