I have been doing this for well over a decade now and I can say, it is very fun and can be challenging too. |

i really want to try smth out where i finally buckle down and regularly update my dream journal, do reality checks, try different techniques etc and get to a point where i ld so often that i can link my dreams together. i wanted to try hanging out w the same fictional characters in each dream and develop a friendship w them / do things w them and have some kind of linearity within my dream world w what happens, as if it were real and happening irl. like actually introduce myself and befriend them and each ld get to know them better like you would w somebody you just met irl. i'm sure this is possible but is it practical? / do you guys have any experience w doing smth like this? |

I have been wanting to try this as well but my dreams are often pretty incoherent. However I have visited a few places multiple times before in my dreams, both lucid and non-lucid, but I haven't really made en effort for that to happen, it just kinda does. There is a dream character that I have talked to multiple times - my subconscious, and also there is a girl that has appeared in maybe 2-3 of my dreams. I would like to take this further and have a more coherent world in my dreams where I can recognise the places and really get to know the characters well. |

Persistent realms and characters are relatively common in advanced lucid dreamers. For instance, my persistent realm is called Aldeterune. |

Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic.
