      dry spell

I'm having a dry spell all week and it stinks. I wonder if their are health practices like eating more greens or exerciseing more that increase REM time. I've noticed that the more active my day is, the less recallable dreams I have and vice versa. Anyone notice this?

Those who study sleep have found that REM sleep is what rejuvinates you at night. That's why you often don't feel very rested the day after drinking (because alcohol inhibits REM sleep).

The best way to maximize your REM time is to have regular, stable sleeping habits.

You might just be having a hard time with your recall. So you might try waking yourself up a couple of hours before you need to get up (since your longest REM periods occur in that time). That way you can shorten the gap between intending to remember your dreams and dreaming.

A simple meditation of quiet reflection before sleep may help.
