Thats one of the things ive never actually done, mostly because Id expect it to end the lucid dream.

Ive found myself quite a few times somewhere high looking down at the hard concrete below.. and i can honestly say in those situations, even when i know im dreaming I have a slight feeling of fear, just that what if feeling.

Ive had "Shoot myself in the face" on my todo list for quite a while aswell, just look down the barrel of a gun, eyeball to metal, and pull the trigger... but alas its yet to happen.

That's the problem... I WANNA SEE IT! How can I see my head cave in and my gore cover the walls if I'm dream-dead?

hmm, I jumped like 20 meters into the air one time, I wasn't really lucid, I was partly lucid, but unconscious, and had the intention to jump up that building, and my first try failed, about my body height too low, and fell back all that height -> nothing happened. I jumped again and got up, THAT happened, actually

So, if I'm lucid again, I'll jump down some huge building

And what exactly would you die of, if you were lucid. You shouldn't be scared to death, which is the only thing that might kill you, heart attacks and stuff.

Before I found out anything about lucid dreaming, I didn't know I could "change" my dream. As a result, whenever I was lucid dreaming and didn't like a particular dream I would go to a high building and just jump off. Also, I always woke up right before I died. This way I could get out of any dream I didn't like.

      Aha! Here's something

for me... well... once I was shot in a dream and it hurt alot. So I wonder what it would feel like to die. I'm curious as to what it would be like to kill myself, if it would hurt, if I'd wake up, etc. I'd try it but my fear definitely transcends into dreaming. I mean, I'm even self conscious in my own dreams, afraid to fly in public and such... !

Well, I've been killed in a dream once before, I was somewhat lucid as far as I can remember.
For me, I woke up just before I saw any real gore, and all the physical pain that I believed to be happening in the dream fit perfectly into the fact that I was sick at the time. For example, I was overheated and out of breath due to a terrible fever, and it hurt to breathe because of my throat being sore, ect.
I haven't tried it scince, but I'm sure it would depend on several things (as far as if you would wake up or not) such as your expectations, physical health, and stuff like that.

ive tried. i ran my car off a jump, and since physics in dreams are distorted, i
went 200 ft into the air, and jumped out of the car. I falling to the ground was soooo cool! best adrenilan rush ever when i hit the ground im guessing that i died cause i couldnt move and i was as limp as a ragdoll. after about 5 seconds of laying there i finally woke up. It was awsome
      Total lucid dreams=88

If dreaming could kill us, I'd say our evolution has failed.

I've jumped off a giant cliff before (very scary even though its a dream), and when i hit the ground it felt like landing from a couple meter high jump. Want to try jumping head first sometime though.

I've done this load of times.
If I want to wake up for some reason (like to go to the bathroom), then I just summon a gun then blow my face off. That usually wakes me up pretty quickly

Here's something that makes me go "what was I thinking???".

Before I realized you could control dreams, I would occasionally become lucid in my dreams and get myself to wake up...why, I do not know. All I had to do (and still do in some nightmares today, when I don't bother to do a R.C.), is to just jolt my head forward and that gets me up instantly...

I have been shot before in dreams, but never done it myself. And i'll tell you what, when you are shot in a non-lucid dream and you wake up, it is such a great feeling knowing that you are alive.

Reminds me: In a non-lucid, I was in my bro's room, sitting on a chair, and some guy shot me in the head. The moment the bullet hit me, everything was black. It was like I lost my body and only had blackness and thoughts left.

After a minute or so the dream ended.
That's been years ago, and I'm still alive

Yeah if you didn't wake up I would expect everything to go black. Might also go back into a unconscious dream.

Interesting question. But I can honestly say I don't think I could. Not because I would be scared, infact just the opposite. In all my time as a lucid dreamer I have been hit by just about everything my mind could throw at me. Bullets, knives, bombs, fire, ice, electricity, long falls, being crushed/stood on:- you name it.
Things is, when I'm lucid, I know I can't die. I feel pain sometimes - the other night I dreamt I'd been shot a couple of times - but the most I will notice is that I just "heal" and get on with the dream.... and if that means kicking the ass of the guy who just shot me then so be it.
Expect the unexpected - when it arrives ask it if you are dreaming.

Swap Bodies with a suicidal DC.
Could you somehow regress memories fo death from a past life? Just throwing out ideas for you guys.

I've thrown myself out of plenty of windows, though never with the intention of killing myself. It didn't hurt, but I did feel the 'thud' sensation of hitting the ground. I have died in plenty of non-lucids though, so I say you can't die IRL from dreams. I'm gonna have to shoot myself next lucid.

Ps. There was a thread on this somewhere...

Is it even possible to kill yourself in a dream? So far I havn't experienced anything that could kill me in a dream getting shot, stabbed, falling from tremendous heights, drowning, etc. Have all failed to kill me in a dream.

As far as my knowledge goes... if your completely lucid that means you know you cant die. If you do die and let yourself think OMG IM GONNA DIE your most likely to lose lucidity. So what i have gathered is that if you die in a dream, its what you think will happen. If you dont die (eg:Lie there for a moment) you most likely believe its a dream and think "ill just see what happens" (hence not realy expecting much) you will continue your dream. Remember you dream on experiances, facts and ideas... i dont think any one who has died has told or written anything about what it's like. Heck dieing might be like waking up some where else.. i dunno...never done it and i dont plan on it for another 87 years or so.
Thanks for listening. Keep on dreaming. if ya have any good theories id love to here em. [email protected]
