      Project Eden

I wasn't entirely sure where to post this thread so I figured it would be fine here. I read quite a while ago about the possibilities of building a dream world which you can return to every time you are lucid. Initially the idea didn't spark much interest in me but for the last couple of weeks it's started to appeal to me more so I have decided to attempt building my own. I entitled this Project Eden. I figured Eden was a good name after the Garden of Eden, even though I am not religious but I like the idea of it.

I've drawn out a lot of my dreams and I thought it would be good to try and draw out the kind of things I want in Eden. I've also started using Unreal Development Kit (a games engine) to map out and build certain parts of it. There are a few areas I have in mind as well as a few dream characters I wish to feature in the world. I also have two ways of entering Eden.

When I become lucid I will try and find a door and when I open the door I will end up on the beach. I figured the beach area I have designed seems like a good starting point for Eden as it's quite simple and my brain won't have to remember or generate as much.

The second way is when I become lucid I will find a mirror and pass through it and end up in the forest. My reason for this is as a kid my sister told me she followed a fairy into my mums room and it took her through the mirror into a forest. Therefore this has quite a lot of meaning for me.

Last night was the first night I managed to get to Eden. I entered the dream via DEILD and so was lucid pretty much straight away. I was in a large building with many doors and so decided to try and get to Eden. The first few times when I opened the door they just led to different rooms but I kept on trying and kept on believing and then when I opened a door it led to the beach. I walked through and was pretty awe struck by it. It didn't look exactly how I planned it out or drew it but I figured something like this would take time so I wasn't annoyed. Some of the things I designed were there but there were loads of extra things too. As I walked a long the beach I found a DC who told me he knew this wasn't what I had planned but he could help me build it just how I want it. I call this guy The Architect. After that I can't remember much. I think I woke up or lost a lot of awareness.

So that's what I have achieved so far. I'm pretty excited about this.

This is really epic, that LD sounds really cool. The unreal development kit is also a pretty handy tool to use, I wouldn't mind seeing some screen caps from what you create in that . I once had a character in my dream just like the architect called shino, she was really handy. My advice is to keep him close and ask him a lot of question, these type of DC's can get you out of the trickiest situations sometimes and it's really fun to develop their character and make them really interesting.

Thank you for posting this. It's awesome ideas like yours that keep me motivated to improve. I would be interested in seeing screencaps too

      Congrats on the success!
I was recently thinking of using some video game editors as well, though in my case it is to try to recreate some things from my dreams, my modelling skills at the moment aren't really good for that though.
Either way would like to see screencaps as well and good luck with building it.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll upload screencaps or any artwork later as right now a lot of it is incomplete/rough designs and I'd rather have some finished stuff to show. Last night I got to Eden again and had a pretty amazing experience.
I was having a pretty weird nightmare about this torture chamber that I was trying to escape. Realising none of this made any sense I knew I was dreaming and decided to grant myself the power of invisibility and just walked past all the people trying to get me. Once outside the building I was in just a regular street and I tried stabilizing by rubbing my hands together and yelling out things like "I know this is my dream therefore I can control it". This girl got my attention and told me we needed to find a door so we entered what looked like a starbucks or something like that and I found a door. When I opened it I was straight into Eden and this time it looked more like my design of the beach. I walked through and spotted a few houses that I hadn't designed but I kinda liked them. I followed the girl through and as I looked around I was overwhelmed with how beautiful this place was. I couldn't believe I created this. We headed further down the beach where there were tons of people. They all seemed happy to see me. I spotted the architect from my previous visit and it turned out that he had built all these houses for me whilst I'd been away. I thanked him for it and he handed me a drink.
I then remembered a certain person that I normally always try and find in my dreams. This is someone who means a lot to me. I thought about them and looked around and eventually saw them. We ran towards each other and hugged. It was a great moment. Then everybody stood around to toast me on my new adventures in Eden. Then I woke up...and I don't think I've ever woken up with this much energy and happiness in my life.
