Are you guys coming back here when you die?

Just wondering if the afterlife exists and there is reincarnation what would you do. I believe there are other planes of existence 'out there' and the possibilities are pretty much infinite. If your body croaks what would you do? Would you come back to earth and live life again? Or will you just move on from this place and spend time in the other realities? For me personally I would leave this place for good, or at the least for a very long time. Earth has a lot of crap going on right now. I would love to spend a couple of centuries in the other planes to relax, have fun creating stuff and whatever else I can think of. And if I choose to reincarnate it might not even be on earth, for all we know there could be aliens out there in a different planet or a different reality all together, I may just incarnate there as an alien. So what are your thoughts? Would you really come back to this physical reality or go off to the other realms?

I actually have a list of what I want to do/be in my next incarnation. If I think about it often, I hope I will remember it

I also think, that after I die I'll go to the astral planes. Which one, that depends on my vibrational frequency. Good people and bad people go to different places and it also depends on your spiritual beliefs and development.

I don't really think, that you can pick different planet to reincarnate into, untill you are developed enough. I have read, that our Earth is a kindergarden - we come her to learn how not to be assholes and douchebags. Only then we are allowed to incarnate to more developed sociaties.

After we spend some time in a place of healing to heal from ordeal of living on this earth, we go to astral plane and pick a spot where we want to live. If we want to and when we want to we reincarnate. Some people will be allowed to pick general life they want to have - family to be born to, country, rich or poor... Others just general direction of life based on which lessons we have not learned yet.

Have no idea it all of this is true, but it sure is fun to think about it.

If it were real I really wouldn't know because can we really apply human logic to something like this? I personally think that life has no meaning but that you might as well live for the experience as long as you don't harm others so I guess I would try out alot of stuff away from earth if I retained my attitude but it would be highly unlikely if I saw other sides to the unniverse. In the end I think I'd just become protector of the unniverse or something like that (If it was possible that is) I like the idea f living an honorouble life.

I've read a lot of books like Robert Monoroe's Journeys out of the body and its two sequels and there are beings he meets that serve as guardians, so I guess we can become like them one day. It's kinda weird but I kinda look forward too death. It's going to happen to us all anyway so it is pointless to be afraid. If it is nothing but oblivion like what scientist think, fine but if it isn't and if there is something more then that's fantastic. Your sig makes me think you would be a dinosaur like entity in the other planes.

Oh, now I see what you mean by guardians. Those could be entities from other realms and worlds, but also us after death. They are helping 'newcomers' to adjust in the afterlife and to show them around. I actually thought about doing this, since just sitting around and having fun for eternity will get boring pretty soon.

But my biggest issue is memory. I would really love to retain my memory of this life and the time in between. It's probably not possible, and for good reason, but I would love it anyway.

It does happen. Its really spooky when you see a child under the age of ten acting and talking like they are middle aged.

Yup. Old soul I believe is the term for people that act well beyond their actual age. I think we remember EVERYTHING in truth just don't have conscious access to it sometimes or we get fragments of it. Old souls on earth may not consciously know the information but they know it subconsciously.

I do believe our souls retain all the knowledge and memories, (that's how our higher self can give us answers we have no idea about), but I would like to have them readily available to me so I can recall them. And yes, the stories of small children remembering their past life is really interesting. Latest one I think is a boy on East Coast remembering he lived in 1930?, had a green car and bunch of details. They actually found records of that guy and boy had 80 out of 100 details correct.

At this point in time I am unsure if I would come back. I have no current knowledge of the choices I will be presented with after I pass and enter whatever realm or dimension is in store for me. After I am given the opportunity to see all of these choices, I will choose accordingly of course. Honestly though, I wouldn't want to narrow my choices down to only the things that I currently understand. Who knows what else is out there.

I believe in reincarnation, but obviously I don't know exactly what happens when we die. For this post I'll assume that what Gab said in her first post is true.

There are so many problems with the world, I can't ignore them. I'd like to be reincarnated as a famous rich person so I could give most of my money to people who need it and use the power to help make the world better. Spending all of eternity enjoying peace seems selfish when I could be helping people.

I'd come back as someone born into a lower-middle class family preferably an ethnic minority, in a politically moderate province/state. With just enough hardships - financially and emotionally - to be able to use the opportunity to quickly learn about the "real world" and mature as rapidly as possible. But obviously not so many hardships that I end up getting swamped. Imo, this is the perfect "training ground" for someone capable of bringing about a real change in this world. Someone that that can empathize with those that are struggling to make it in the world, and is also in a situation that would allow them to sort of rise up and reach a position of power (ie. a politician) through hardwork and enough dedication. And being part of an ethnic minority, it'd be much easier to get a few easy votes. That being said, I'm in the perfect position to do all that... I need to stop being so lazy. =/

If reincarnation is possible and we actually have any say on the matter, I intend to keep coming back.

I don't know, I suppose I go back to my dreams eventually after waking up, but they're never quite the same place.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

If I could, I'd like to come back as a more social version of me that doesn't get too affected by stress. I'd like to be the president, but I can't talk to a group of more than a few people and I wouldn't be able to live with half the country hating me, it would all be too much stress.

      Hi Daredevilpwn,

Super kool topic. I often think about it.

There dang well better be life after physical death! Else what's the point of a few decades of physical life with all the hardships? Even considering all the good things, it would still seem rather pointless and tragic even...a limited mortal life and then...nothing, doh!

Hard question to answer in a straight forward way.

Problem is there are far too many unknown variables or possibilities both that we can imagine and can't imagine.

The question raises a lot of additional questions: Do we get a partial or full say? What choices do we have? etc...

I can't answer direct but I can tell you what I'd like. I'd like to be in more of an Astral Plane type of place. I don't think Earth would suit me, especially the way it is now thanx to a bunch of selfish, greedy, evil, overly-wealthy jerks who are in the process of quickly ruining the Earth. I don't think anything above the Astral would suite me. I like senses and sensations too much. While I like the feeling of being connected to all, I cherish my individuality. I'd like a balanced dose of both and I wouldn't be willing to zap my ego completely Always good to cooperate with and serve others though!

I would like a place where the inhabitants were generally much more ethical than they are here. There would not be competition over resources (one of our main problems) because resources would be unlimited. Everyone would realize they were very connected to everyone and everything and would have a deep reverence for each other.

I wouldn't want anyone eating anything living. Perhaps we would all feed on an unlimited supply of energy or maybe it would be absorbed naturally and we wouldn't have to "eat" per se.

Peace, happiness, and bliss would be the rule rather than the exception and everyone would have it to their fill. Unlimited, wonderful, fulfilling creativity would be constantly available to all. Excitement and amazement would be never ending. We would eagerly look forward to every day. Everything would be ultra-kool!

We'd feel grateful and secure in every respect. We'd have reason to trust each other completely and would enjoy sharing the things we create. There would always be lots of interesting things to and experience. We would remember all previous lives.

There would be no war, no theft, no selfishness because there would be everything desired and in great abundance.

...or perhaps we'd just migrate to another place according to the quality of our vibration...

One thing is for sure: it can't hurt to meditate, LD, and anything related to expanding the mind and consciousness. I suspect it will maximize our chances of a better life after physical death.

      Post Mobian The Explorer

In ways I do believe in reincarnation but I do not intend on coming back to this planet, it's hell enough here as it is and I want to leave already. I'd only come back to visit more so if it's the "end of the world" type of deal and I want to witness it or if Earth's physics bend a bit to allow me access to return in whatever non-human - humanoid form I may possess after death but allowing me to leave when need be. Perhaps if an otherworldly individual wants me to come bring order to the human race then I will return on that note. Otherwise, my life on Earth will be all just memories of the past for me once I die and thus beginning to move forward in my existence and to experience more outside of this shell of a limited body.

I do want to go to Mobius (Sonic's world) and get married to my fiancé. Maybe have a child with him and raise him/her to become a fighter, though we really don't plan on doing so. Probably go to other universes and worlds like, Spira, and such to meet my friends and do what I intended on doing at those places.

I don't really have much planed other than...exist after death. No limitations or restrictions on where I want to go while possessing flexibility and power. No more bowing to the knees for the majority of this species. Able to come and go whenever I feel like and to loath in worlds that accept things that most people wouldn't allow on this planet. And to collaborate with creatures only found in this world's fiction. That is my wish.

Lucid dreaming is probably the closest I can get to experiencing life outside of Earth without the need for suicide.

This world may not be something you wish to return to, relative to certain context; there were a sect of Gnostics who maintained that this world was a prison, a bad copy of the original "Pleroma" fashioned by the Demiurge by means of "phantasia". Essentially, taking the same template yet twisting and distorting everything about it.

There are a group of beings purported to usher humans back into a cycle of coercive reincarnation. Upon death, perhaps it is wiser to trailblaze your own path as opposed to approaching the 'light' like a mesmerized moth.

I also thought id rest at least for 500 yrs in higher dimension from this crappy place. But now that i think about it, i am actually HERE to fix what is going on in the world. If i died and this place was still hell made by the system then im gonna come back again and again and again until i see this beast of 666 dies for myself. But i already feel intuitively that this is the 'last chance'. Reality is what you CREATE not attract. I dont wanna repeat things again thru 'reincarnation' and evade responsibility of cleaning up sh*ts we made. There is only ONE reality. If u made a place full of negativity then it will stay negative. We all wanna clean it up, altho i believe nature will always go into new cycle to clear up herself as well. This is why reality is fun cuz theres so much emotion.

Nature is beautiful still. I love earth but not the system made by humans to controll us and its time to be free, we as ONE will create the beautiful reality we want thats why we are learning how to control dream here to CHANGE reality

My best guess is that someone who is akin to me but not quite me lives again in circumstances akin to the circumstances I lived in, but different, and continues struggling with some of the same things.

Earth is a prison, but I think that most of us who see it that way haven't come to terms with why we're in it. As I see it, dreamers and spiritual aspirants are often among the nastiest people on earth, not better than the 'materialists'. Have to accept the truth about ourselves and actually change. Then escaping isn't so much of an issue any more.

Some things aren't easily repaired once broken. You can't beat your spouse then apologize to put everything back the way it was before. You can't kill and eat other animals then tire of it after a few lives and go somewhere else. It changes you, and what you have become keeps you here and keeps you from being something else. What can a cat or a vampire bat do? It has to eat. I think that we're damned in that sense, we can only go forward, not back, and it is a hard road forward from here. But there is still joy in life, and in that effort.

I think that many of the evils we see aren't the roots, and that getting at the root takes a strength that is largely beyond us. So it doesn't help to be too hard on ourselves. But we still have to make the most of the opportunities we have. A lot of little things do matter.

I don't believe in a theological heaven or hell, at least not as anything more than part of a larger cycle. We are alive now, and we are dead now. Maybe we will be more alive or more dead at times, but I think it is essentially the same stuff, we don't get away from ourselves. Maybe a rest would be nice though.

As I see it, dreamers and spiritual aspirants are often among the nastiest people on earth, not better than the 'materialists'. Have to accept the truth about ourselves and actually change. Then escaping isn't so much of an issue any more.
It could also be that, dreamers and spiritual aspirants are people who seek a major change in them self and others? It always comes down different levels of awareness, and thereby different approaches to life as well. The process of change is rarely pretty, if it is a major change. So that could also be reason for many people to not engage in such process too willingly. Dreamers and spiritual aspirants are just that, because they often are engaged in the process of trying to break free from the materialistic way of living. So even if there is nastie behaviour in that, it may be a natural reaction to the experienced pressure from the status quo that rules.

Anyways, I might be coming back here when Im alive..

I would like to come back to learn more about Buddhism. So as long as Buddha-Dhamma is still on earth i would like to come back, if or when it dissapears i wouldn't like to be here. Of course this doesn't guarantee my future rebirths at all, but at least those are the reasons. Also when a new Buddha comes i would definitely like to be here, and of course meet him and the Sangha.
