Well, everyone knows if you stare at yourself in the mirror your face starts to change a little. This would be an even more dramatic change if you were doing it in a poorly lit environment, like with a candle. |

Well, not necessarely from a previous one. But simply different "spiritual" "me"s of yours. |

i dont believe in reincarnation, therefor i dont believe in past lives. like loaf said if you stare in a mirror long enough your face will start morphing a bit, especially with low lighting. its just your eyes playing tricks on you |

Yeah, I hate these people. They see something suspicious, and instead of associating it to a muffin/TV show/salamander/coconuts, they associate it to spiritual and paranormal stuff. As the philosopher says, what you seek is what you will find; or even, what you see is in your eye. Stop chasing UFOs and they will no longer appear. |

Saying quantum physics explains cognitive processes is just like saying geology explains jurisprudence.
The way I see it it's kind of "The One Whole in which are manifested The Many", like many focal points of life/consciousness within the same, primal one. If you make it a scale like: 10 being the one whole and 1 being the smallest form of life, you can get a three, for example. Within it are lesser forms of life that makes it be what it is, just as it is part of a higher form. |

You know whats funny? How in my "previous" lives I look almost exactly the same. Even the shape of my hair, the clothes I am wearing... its all the same! But it must be my past self, because my nose looks slightly different in this blinding darkness. |
|
It doesn't mean the other way round either, and it's not like it's mysticism related thruths driven by beliefs or escapism, not from my part. |

It was obvious that time was linear before Einstein. That's why I mentioned common sense. |

"Always refreshing."
But this isn't something as intricate as that. Its just poor sight in dark light. We know apples grow on trees. We know the tongue can taste. Its the obvious stuff. Theres nothing deep about it. |

Actually, no. I'm not fond of mystic beliefs, I just like them almost the same way I have my poetry preferences. |

"Always refreshing."
Why must it be you from previous lives? Why can't it be your lost twin? Why can't it be your soul? Why can't it be your grandpa when he was your age? Why can't it be what you will look like in a year? Why can't it be your mother if she were male? |

In fact, I can safely say that mirrors have a mind of their own and soon enough they will devour us. The visions we see are a sign. And thats my belief. I have no basis, no evidence, and of course its as preposterous as possible. But its my belief. |

That explains why we fear them in dreams. We connect to the astral plane, and get messages from the parallel world that is the mirror. Because time is linear and what have you. |

I guess I'm really being misunderstood. |

"Always refreshing."
But why should there be any other explanation? Thats just complicating it with silly theories and ideas. Completely un-necessary. |
|
Wait a sec, wasn't this board a place for "paranormal phenomena" to be discussed without flamery/mockery/trolling? |
|
"Always refreshing."
Corello, way to go, making the most arbitrary conclusions out of every new fact -- in this case, a goddamn mirror. Ever heard of a thing called science? +.+ |

Exactly. Just because this is a paranormal sub-forum doesn't mean every random spiritual thought you have will be verified and un-debated. Its for discussion about the paranormal - not blind exceptence to it. |
|
Dude, you just keep on hammering that idea because you don't want to think of other interpretations, it's not different from a crazy ass guy yelling at people since they don't believe he's a wizard, he just doesn't want to think of other explanations for things in his life. |
|
"Always refreshing."
Why do I have to be a blind acceptor of the supernatural then? Do you mind seriously reading what I'm writing? |
|
"Always refreshing."
I'm hammering the idea because its a total lack of logic, thought, and philosophy. Its just another bogus theory. Its beyond me why people even take it seriously. There is nothing more to it - there is no other possibility of ghosts and spirits. Its a god damn light reflecting mirror, in a place with poor lighting. |
