i think theres a ghost in my house

hey didnt know where else to post this, this seemed like the best spot. So last night i was home alone and about to go smoke outside, and i was walking into the living room towards the door. And theres this one glass thing that hangs over this light fixture on the wall and i heard a glass tapping glass sound and the glass thing was swinging against a glass picture frame. Now it was pretty windy out but i know the wind wouldnt move it that much, it was swinging 1 or 2 inches back and forth. And i was just like confused.. so i went and smoked and came back in. And it was swinging like that again. So i stopped it, and then i just stayed there and waited to see if the wind could move it. But even after a few stronger gusts came in the window it didnt do much at all. So i ignored it and hung out in my room for an hour or two, slightly creeped out. Then later on when my mom came home i was getting ready to go to bed i was walking over to the bathroom from the kitchen. And as i was walking through the hall i heard a click and the light was off. And i just froze for about 10 seconds looking into the dark bathroom. Then i realized the light could have just gone out. i walked in a little bit and i touched the switch. And it was in the off position. I tried the light and it turned on as normal. THen i turned it off to see how hard it is to turn off. I have no idea how it would have been turned off. The nearest thing was a towel hanging below it on the rack. And today earlier i heard the sink turn on for a few seconds. I might have been hearing things on that one though. Does anyone know anything about ghosts? ive never really thought much about whether i believe in ghosts or not. And this is making me feel kind of like i do believe in them. Never had many experiences like this except for one time this glass lamp got shattered on the floor in my basement randomly in a different room. Anyone who knows about ghosts, i feel dumb asking these because its weird. But what can a ghost do if they are real..? Can i see it? Can it touch me? Can i hear it? Why is it here? How can i make it go away, or stop scaring me? Or can is it possible to befriend it?

You sure no one was playing an April Fool's prank on ya? If it is a ghost...I'm not sure why it would only start doing things now. Has anyone else that lives with you ever mentioned anything about a ghost? I think poltergeist activity is the one that starts randomly and ends abruptly. It has even been linked to weird energy caused by the individuals living in a place. Is anyone that lives with you going through a really hard time right now? I don't know much about ghosts.

Anyone who knows about ghosts, i feel dumb asking these because its weird. But what can a ghost do if they are real..? Can i see it? Can it touch me? Can i hear it? Why is it here? How can i make it go away, or stop scaring me? Or can is it possible to befriend it? People these days use the belief of the astral to explain ghost phenomenon. (I can't give you any guarantee its true though) The astral is a dream like world that we all supposedly go to when we fall asleep. And it's easy to see how in dreams where you can fly and walk through walls, how much the dream body mimics our ideas of ghosts. Right? Ghosts fly and walk through walls right? So do we in dreams. Between the astral and our waking reality is the etheric realm. The etheric realm is a part of our physical reality, like another layer to it. Now there's something you need to understand. The etheric realm is pure energy. But so is our physical realm energy! If we forget that our reality is also energy, then the idea of ghosts becomes really strange. This is why ghosts can interact with our reality - were both energy. A 'ghost' would be an etheric being. Like all physical beings, even this ghost has a body. An etheric body. Ghost hunters believe that this etheric body has measurable properties just like our own. And because of it's unique properties, it interacts with our world in a unique way. Ghosts are known for easily manipulating lights and all electrical appliances. People who astral project claim that when they project into the etheric realm, their body buzzes when ever they get near any electrical appliance. I'm only telling you this because not understanding is why ghosts can be so freakish. Which would you rather imagine? That a ghost can manipulate lights because it is malicious and evil? Or because it has a type of electromagnetic body (therefore a natural being, not a supernatural one) that can interact with other electromagnetic things (a natural ability of said natural being) There isn't any reason for you to fear this ghost. While a ghost can interact with our reality to some degree, a stranger you meet on the street is still more dangerous!! What makes the ghost creepy is that we tend to feel our privacy is being invaded, well, it is! The etheric realm is an inbetween world, it's not a place to be living and no one living in the etheric can be all that happy. Most etheric beings running around in the etheric have some sort of mental or emotional problem. You usually don't want to befriend them. It doesn't mean theyre evil, but they're not mentally or emotionally healthy. To understand better, you can even compare this disgruntled spirit invading your home to a crazy hobo trying to live in your car, who attacks you every time you try to go to work because you're 'moving' his car-home. The two are actually very similar. Your bedroom exists both in your physical reality AND in the etheric reality. While you lay down to sleep, so can the ghost be laying down to sleep. While we can't always see the etheric, the etheric can see us. And if this ghost is 'haunting', his perspective is like the movie The Others. You're the one invading 'his' space!! But in truth, he's in the wrong and you're in the right. Not all ghosts, because they are mentally ill, understand this truth. Many of these disgruntled spirits really are confused and don't understand why you are here. My biggest problem with ghosts isn't the waking life. Sure they can scare you but it's not a big deal in the end, no one is hurt. My real problem is dreams. You see, while the ghost is in the etheric and while you are here, you're realities never actually meet directly. You're in two different places at once. But both of you have access to the astral, where dreams take place. (This spirit is meant to be living in the astral btw) In this case, the two of you can meet face to face. These dreams aren't so happy. But in this case the same is true. He's the invader, he's in the wrong, you're in the right and all the power of the Universe is on your side to correct this wrong. Whatever the case. If this ghost is bothering you in anyway, you need to claim your space. This ghost has no right to be invading your space, even if they are just confused. Luckily for you, removing a ghost is actually very easy. By Universal Laws (if you can call them that?) you're in the right here! You need only to verbally affirm that this ghost is removed from your home and it will be done. Understand that your voice has real authority here. If you feel meek, call on a higher power if you believe in one. Just understand you are very powerful in this case. Dannon made a thread in the DD that might help you if you would like to see some rituals about claiming and cleaning your space of unwanted energies and spirits. BTW, according to angel lore these unwanted spirits are taken to old old forests to live in, where they are welcomed (they have a right to live some where!!). I don't know who started this lore, and it may have just been a tree hugger. But basically it says old ancient trees harbor angry and disgruntled spirits. This old tree becomes a healing and peaceful place to live in for this spirit that needs healing. But if you cut down the old tree, well then these spirits become homeless and they could haunt you out of spite! Lesson is, leave the old trees alone!

thanks guys, @Aquanina no, it couldnt have been a prank lol. And the only other ghost type things i can think of that have happend is when like 8 years ago when i was in the basement with a friend and we were watching tv and in the storage room we heard a loud crash and we went in and it was a smashed lamp on the floor. And sometimes i hear some strange noises at night, but it just might be me hearing stuff. @juroara thanks so much for all that info , it helps to know that i shouldnt be scared. Also another question, can i see the ghost if there is one?

It's very different in some cases. I dont believe/disbelieve in ghosts but even though your situation is very awkward, I still dont think you could jump to the ghost conclusion. First of all, houses can generate weird air currents while its windy outside. Even though you opened the window doesnt mean its the same current hitting that picture. The light switch, ahh, very scary indeed. But it's possible someone didnt flip up the the switch up properly and maybe a vibration that you caused, caused it to flip down and make the click sound, ect. Now understand dont be afraid, ghosts are bitches, they won't do shit. If they would, just start screaming GTFO, and like he said, it usually goes away. In the end, even if there is a ghost its totally normal to feel scared, but in all reality, you really don't have to fear them. And I think that above poster went a little awol with the whole mentally ill personal walking around your house. Most are not as retarted as he makes them out to be. But I got to admit he made me laugh. There goal isn't to hurt you, there not walking around, oh shit how can I scare little timmy today. Another thing happened, last night my friend was staying over night in my basement and he told me in the morning that he was hearing really weird noises down there and he was really creeped out. But i hadent even told him about thinking there was a ghost or anything. Weird coincidence?

haha xyn, no i dont even live with 2 parents. He said it was like a quick tapping sound coming from the corner of the room or somthing like that. I cant really explain the noise he made that he said sounded like it.

Whatever it is it sounds pretty harmless if all it does is swing lights and make tapping sounds. Do you ever feel like there is someone watching you? Does it frighten you?
