      Phased's Workbook

About Me: I'm a weird kind of dreamer, I have had periods of consistent and vivid dreams (including Lucid's) but often experience long dry patches, mainly because I drift from the whole community and activity of Lucid Dreaming, which I am seeking to rectify in this latest stint. My preferred method of entry is WILD! My sleeping pattern is somewhat a disgrace due to my shifts at work often being changed, usually I try and be in bed before 12:00 but it's been difficult lately.

      Reality Checks:
-Pinch nose an try to breath.
-Try to push my finger through a wall or my hand.
-Simply question whether it not I am dreaming.
      -Light Switch

      Dream Signs:
      -Being at School
      -Unfamiliar Places/People

      Short-Term Goals:
      -Dabble in supplements?
-Draw scenes from dreams in DJ.

      Long-Term Goals:
      -Begin WILD'ing consistently
-Have a meaningful conversation with a Dream Character.
      -Visit the akashic records!

      Lucid/Dream Recall History:
-I've had periods of great and consistent Lucid's and periods of nothing.
-Fairly decent dream recall nowadays, a lot better than it used to be.
-Can only recall one dream a night, sometimes with more fragments.

      Current Technique:
      -WILD
      -DILD (Hopefully soon!)

      Welcome to the class, Phased!

Good luck with the recall, it'll surely get better the more you try. I've already seen you around chat, so I hope to talk to you soon.

      Cheers

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I did not remember any dreams last night either, I don't know what I am doing wrong, I drank a glass of water, set the intent of remembering my dreams ect.

-Actually, on deeper thought, I can never stay still as I wake up, can anyone give me some tips on how to do this more effectively?

Don't worry, you're not really doing anything wrong. It takes a bit of time to improve dream recall, especially if you're only starting out. Remember that it's a whole new lifestyle you're trying to adapt to. Just keep your intentions and consider every attempt a step closer to a lucid.

You can use mantras before bed such as "I wake up and stay still" or anything that reminds you to do so. The importnt thing is to actually believe what you're saying — like command yourself to do it. Don't worry though, if you're aiming for DEILD, you should know that it's more mental than physical. What I mean is if you accidentally move, don't think about it. Just focus on your dream and visualizing it. The more you focus on the physical aspect, the less likely you will be to enter the mental aspect (dream). I know many people (including myself) who move and roll over when they wake up, but as long as you dont think of it too much, and just carry on, then you can still do it.

      Hope this helps

      http://www.dreamviews.com/dream-sign...reams-try.html

When using the technique described in this thread I remembered 2-3 dreams in one night up from 0-1 and I woke up after dreams remembering them vividly.
I don't know why it works but it does
Keeping a DJ is still the main thing in improving recall i believe though. When I started DJ'ing I almost never remembered my dreams now (2 months after) I often recall multiple dreams and almost always atleast 1 dream per night. And it keeps getting better.

I know that anytime I feel like I can boost my dream recall for a single night with the above technique. You should try it!

Trust me man, I keep a dream journal, and write in it every morning, no matter if I remember a dream or not, I simply write how I slept and that I did not remember any dreams ect.

      Daily Blog

I woke up after having a pretty bad sleep, it was kind of annoying as I am working on recall. Any way, woke up, had a shower and then cooked scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast, I then got into my uniform and went to school, it was a pretty boring day and I did not find it to interesting, we did some first aid, humanities, and some other stuff, We also did fitness which was alright to get some exercise every now and then. I caught the bus home and also noticed that I had a rip in my new shoes, which is a bit strange as I don't know how it happened. Once I got home I got undressed from my school clothes and then got onto dreamviews and did some other stuff, began writing out this..

I actually just meant to tell you about Masterminds dream recall technique which is a bit different. It helps me a lot when I do it before going to sleep. Sorry if it seemed like I thought you don't write DJ already.

Updated my post, going to give Lucid Dreaming a real crack now and stay with the community (instead of sticking around for a few months then vanishing..) keen to learn and to help out, let's see how we go!

Made my first WILD attempt in a while last night, was going pretty well until I just suddenly jerked my legs and arms, it was really odd and I can't really explain it, anyone know why this may have happened?

Hi! Seems like you have experienced a hypnic jerk - an involuntary body movement in the moment of falling asleep. These are usually random, though they may occur more often if one has a disrupted sleep schedule or has been sleep deprived.

Thank you so much! I've actually had a very poor sleep schedule as well as little amounts of sleep lately due to work, so that explains a lot. Thanks for the help Nyx, my sleep schedule should be back on track soon enough if I can convince my manager(s) to stop shuffeling me around so often
