      Luciera's Workbook

Hello. I am Luciera (that is not my real name) and I have never ever had a lucid dream before and I really want one. Though I don't know how long it will take, I hope it is soon.

Sleep Time: I usually sleep at 10:00 pm and wake up at 6:30 am.

Reality Checks: I do reality checks at random intervals during the day. I don't have an incentive. Whenever I just remember or when I feel like it, I do a reality check.

-Count my fingers and make sure I have all five.
-Index and middle finger to palm.
      -"Am I dreaming?"
-Pinch my nose and try breathing.

Motivation: I want a lucid dream badly because, who doesn't want to control their dream and be the god of it? I want to explore the infinite possibilities of the world and experience everything there is the my mind has to offer. I want to basically do EVERYTHING. It can also provide as an escape to life. When I have a stressful day, I can relax, knowing that I will be able to do anything. Normally, I hate sleep and wish that we don't require sleep, and lucid dreaming can be a reason that I can enjoy sleeping.

Short term goal: 1)Achieve a lucid dream and when it's fading, renew it with, "More clarity!"

      Long term goal:
      1) Fly.
      2) Teleport.
      3) Create a perfect utopia and visit it everyday, changing nothing.
      4) Change genders.
      5) Create galaxies

Technique: I prefer using the DILD method, then the WILD method. Though, I want WILD to be later.

      Nothing. :-D

Just doing constant reality checks, though the amount of reality checks I have done is being shortened everyday. Is that a bad thing?

Dream journal is coming strong, as are the mantra's. Still hoping to see the results soon!

Just do many reality checks throughout the day and try to do them as often as you can. Oh and also thinking about lucid dreaming a lot and reading about it can trigger lucidity.

I've heard about FILD technique too. It is said to b the fastest way of achieving lucid dream which is like WILD but is for beginners. Just stick to reality checks and make a habit of it then go for FILD. Finger induced lucid dream.

Nope! Though my dream recall is getting quite better! I must not lose faith!

Still keeping up with those reality checks...that's all for now!

Yesterday, as I was falling asleep, I chanted, "I will remember my dreams."
      and
"I will achieve lucidity. Hey subconscious, remember to do a reality check once I'm dreaming to achieve lucidity!"

Sadly, that did not happen. I'm going to go cry in a hole now.

Don't expect it to happen too soon.
That's so great to know u remember ur dreams better ,Then ull learn how to think in ur dream. Lol yes u think to do a really check in ur dream or or ull do it suddenly cz u learned to do them habitually in ur life. What u learn in ur life ull do it in ur dream. U will achieve lucidity but dun force urself. Expect lucidity like u expect ur heart to beat so it means forget about forcing urself. hope it helped.

I agree with Mahshid. Don't expect it to happen too soon. Lucid dreaming is something that can take a long time to achieve for some people, while others really fast. One of the key things is patience. For some people it takes weeks to months just just have their first lucid dream (I was in that category). Not saying it will take you that long, but if you're practicing often and doing a lot of reality checks and are patient, then you are closer to having a lucid dream soon.

Welcome to the class Luciera! Excited about your first ld.

Keep up the good work and don't forget to read around the forums for extra inspiration. It absolutely helps to saturate one's mind with thoughts about lucid dreaming .

      Yeah, sorry.
I'm just so excited about getting my first ld, I'm becoming really impatient. I know it takes a lot of patience, but it's really hard for me to be.
Thank you very much for your words and I will gladly take it into heart.

Thank you so very much! Do you know how many reality checks are recommended each day? Also, once I achieve lucidity, once I realize that I'm dreaming, will it be like a breakthrough, a revelation? Will I be surprised that I'm dreaming? What was your experience when you achieved lucidity for the first time?

Well, something weird happened. I happened to do a reality check (not sure if it was a dream or not), but when I did, I counted 6-7 fingers. Strange thing was, my finger couldn't go through my palms and I tried pinching my nose, but I don't really know if I could breathe or not. Can't remember anything after that.....

I guarantee it had to be a dream since you counted 6-7 fingers! That's enough to tell if it was a dream!

I don't have to explain, right?

None yet, doing reality checks and all that nice stuff.

Will post later once something interesting actually happens.

Dreaming has become increasingly vivid. Not sure if that's good or bad, but in terms of my nightmare, it definitely isn't pleasant. I have an easier time remembering my dreams and once I wake up, I could wait around 3-4 hours, remembering my dreams before it fades away.

Reality checks are coming as is my dream journal.

Sorry for the huge delay! Been doing RC's and stuff, but something actually happened.
It's hazy, but I'll try my best to tell.

I was standing up, somewhere (no clue where), when I wished for, I think a ball of string or something that was thin, but long. I turned back and looked forward, and the string was there! It was so cool. I then wished for a companion and I turned back, but nothing happened. I tried once more, but nothing happened again.

I tried putting my finger to my palm, and I have no idea what happened. I also pinched my nose and tried to breathe and that too, I had no idea what the result was. :c

I then got really excited and began shouting, "This is a dream! This is a dream!"

And then, I forgot what happened.
