Thread: Why am I dreaming of TV characters from Tv shows?

Because your mind confuses TV with reality. The more you watch it, the more normal/realistic it feels to the brain. If your younger then that would help too. Younger people tend to confuse reality and television much more easily, because their inexperience with reality. Then, your brain rehashes some old information from the day, and it sees TV. Lazy day? Watch TV before you slept? While you slept?

If you were watching TV while you slept, then chances are the shows were on and you heard some of the voices and created a dream around them. Quick question though, did the cartoon characters look real, or like cartoons?

Its called day residue. Dreams are made for sorting out memories and chosing what to get rid of and what to keep. So it's only normal for a character from a tv show to appear in a dream.

Well for Wishbone until some weeks ago (on youtube)-I haven't seen in a coon's age. Scooby Doo I only saw one eposide of it (again on youtube), and for a couple of weeks 2 months ago I watched Totally Spies!. I am not a little kid, I am an young adult. I don't have TV in my bedroom. Only a TV in the kitchen, and the family room.

But I ineracted with the said characters- (kind of).

Quick question though, did the cartoon characters look real, or like cartoons

The cartoon characters looked like they were cartoons (for Scooby-Doo the orignal cartoon-that is) but they also in a way "real" enough. I hope you got what I mean.

I usually sleep with the TV playing and its not uncommon for stuff on TV to make it into my dreams, especially infommericals it seesm.

I do not have a TV in my room and I don't fall asleep on the coach in the family room-that's my mom's job (LOL). So falling asleep when something's on TV is unlikley for me.

I second this. Since I watch a lot of television, it's natural for characters and subject matter to make its way into my dreams.

I'm convinced that TV in general is not good for us. Rent a video, but be very selective about what you watch. Garbage in, garbage out.

My dream content seems to stem from events that happened 5-7 days ago. If I watch a movie, I will dream about it a week later. If I hang out with people one weekend, I will dream about them the next weekend. Strange.
