      I'm having recall problems.

Well, I'm having some problems remembering my dreams. I know last night I had one that involved my parents and some kind of warfare? I don't know. When I wake up, I lie in bed for up to five minutes and can't remember a thing sometimes. I know that you have to have sufficient recall in order to begin lucid dreaming, so I'd like to ask what other people do to remember dreams.

You could always be lucid and not remember...its better if you can remember for future techniques of making yourself lucid but great recall isn't essential to lucid dreaming. I would recommend keeping a dream journal. Keep it right next to your pillow so you can record your dream upon waking up. even if its just random ideas, or keywords, it will help with your recall. There are also some techniques where you drink apple or orange juice to help. I found it helps a little but just clearing my mind and keeping a dream journal has already helped me increase my recall.

I keep a dream journal, though, it is across the hall from my bedroom. It's on this desktop. I have four entries, starting from June 17th. My memory is jumpy. I guess I'll keep one next to my bedside, then.

Yeah, I think I'm actually starting to get some say in what happens in my dreams. It used to be that my dreams were random and unrealistic sometimes, and realistic and straightforward other times. Now, all of my dreams have a similar layout and theme. They all seem to have to do with what I was doing during the day.

That works....look for real odd things, things that are way out of the ordinary to see if you can DILD.

Wow. Last night, I had a dream where I lived in a city apartment with some random woman with short maroon hair. She made me happy at first, but then I actually started to think of questions in my head. Just as I was about to ask her who she is, I woke up. I think I lost it there...

Lay down and shut your eyes as if you were going back to bed, often your last dream will come back to you.
