Was this my first lucid dream?

Sooooooo I have been practising hard-core for about a week and a bit with no success, but last night I think I might have had my first LD...Well, it was a dream about travelling and I was carrying a suitcase around with me but then as I was about to catch a train it disappeared and I was getting all panicky because I had to catch this train. So I was wishing for the suitcase to be right behind me and I kept turning around expecting the suitcase to be there and it wasn't, but then I stopped and thought 'what the hell am I doing? you'd only do this in a dream...HOLY CRAP, IT IS A DREAM!' and I did a dance a bit like this lol Then I thought 'wait, I'd better stabilize this..' so I did some spinning but then I think I forgot to visualize something or keep a hold of the dream and I woke up in bed eventually I fell back to sleep and the dream continued non-lucid. Could this have been me just dreaming of lucid dreaming or was this for real do you think? Thanks

If you realized it was a dream, congrats, you got lucid

You probably got kicked out because you got so excited. Next time try to keep calm (it's hard, I know)

The key part was the fact that you noticed you were dreaming. Yes it was 100% a LD because you were consciously aware. Well done!

Now remember how the dream felt, how you felt etc to anchor yourself into the dream. Usually helps with dream control or detecting a dream.

The idea with dream stabilization is to focus completely on the dream world. Maybe you were spinning too fast, losing focus of your surroundings and letting your mind go back to your real body? I don't really like the spinning stabilization technique to be honest but I'm no expert at stabilization either.

I think most people find that lucid dreaming like many other skills gets easier the more you do it.

For most people, yes. After the first lucid dream they start having more, but you have to keep it up! Keep practicing whatever you are practicing. Your lucky you had your 1st LD so quickly! Good luck
